At Kim Il Sung University was splendidly held the inaugural ceremony of Science Library with modern architectural beauty and grandeur on October,2023.

The Science Library of Kim Il Sung University newly built on Ryongnam Hill alongside the creations of love built by the WPK attaching importance to education.

We recollect the history of the peerlessly great men's noble attachment to education and science in the new appearance of the library.

In December 2009, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited Kim Il Sung university and said it should be built into the highest institute of Juche-oriented education and science and the world's leading university. He unfolded a plan for developing the Science Library built and guided by President Kim Il Sung on the spot in a modern way.

True to his noble intention, the respected general Secretary paid deep attention to the remodeling of the library.

From the mark of the library to the plan and even finishing materials everywhere is cherished the fatherly affection of the respected general Secretary who devoted all his things to provide teachers and students of our Kim Il Sung University with the greatest condition of scientific research and study.

President Kim Il Sung who always paid deep attention to the construction of the university's science library despite the difficult situation after the liberation of the country earnestly taught that we should build up a comprehensive and modern science library equipped with various books and materials in order to intensify the education, scientific research and study of teachers and students.

Today it has been modernly changed by the respected General Secretary after decades continuing the fatherly affection of the great leader. The newly-remodeled Science Library has a total floor space of over 11 000m² with more than 1.2 million books and over 1 000 seats.

The respected General Secretary examined the plan for the reconstruction of the library several times and took benevolent measures to push ahead with the project as a work of the Party and the State.

The harder and the more difficult, the more love and trust we get. That is why we feel so unusual seeing the students reading ardently, the teachers absorbed in researching cutting-edge task and the warm sunshine through the windows of the library.

The academic, material and technical foundation in the three-storey Science Library has established to provide with synthetic and professional service,it has been remodeled to meet the world trend ensuring convenience of free academic exchange as well as reading all kinds of books including social and natural sciences.

There are many famous universities in the world that boast of their long history and tradition, but there is no one in which even a building and a staircase cherish the love and trust of the peerlessly great men.

Indeed, the Science Library of Kim Il Sung University is a monumental edifice associated with the far-reaching plan and ideal of the Workers' Party of Korea to build a world-class educational power and a talented nation on this land and the pledge of sons and daughters of Ryongnam Hill to attain any ultra-modern science if required by the Workers' Party of Korea.
