The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were the great mentors and benevolent fathers of all our social scientists."

The life of President Kim Il Sung was a benevolent one of the great teacher who brought the life of Korean scientists in full bloom and added glory to their destiny.

The noble history of love for the people created by the President is associated with the love for and trusts in scientists.

On January 16, Juche 79 (1990), President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il sent foodstuff, embroidery titled "Songhak" and high-quality suiting to Pak Si Hyong, a researcher from Faculty of History, Kim Il Sung University, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Bearing in mind the deep intention of the President who sent the embroidery titled "Songhak" symbolizing good health and longevity from ancient times to celebrate an ordinary scholar's health, Pak Si Hyong recollected with deep emotion his happy life as a historian under his special love and warm care.

Immediately after national liberation, though the state was in narrow circumstances, the President had arranged for him to live at a luxurious house and then at a new flat for lecturers, along with the main building of Kim Il Sung University, and in the period of postwar rehabilitation and later on, gave him the best flat when a new street was built in the center of the capital city. He sent him new clothes every season, a watch inscribed with his august name and a high-quality car, calling him a scholar who contributed to the historical development of the country.

When the first study of national history started in the DPRK soon after the liberation, the President instructed that Juche should be established in studying Korean history and culture, and that every problem should be correctly formulated and rectified from the point of view of Korean revolution, even when one historical fact and a small historical relic were unearthed and evaluated.

In the harsh days of the Korean war, he said that Juche should be thoroughly established in the study of national history and culture and books should be written to educate people in the spirit of patriotism. When it was raised that dogmatism and formalism should be eliminated and Juche established in the ideological work after the war, he led the work to thoroughly maintain the Juche-oriented stand in the study of history.

On April 14, Juche 66 (1977), the President, who continued his spot-guidance, visited Paeksanglu, Anju City on the day before his birthday. He called him there to clarify the fact associated with Salsudaechop (Great Victory in Salsu), which had been distorted for long time via his military wisdom, clear logic and scientific analysis. He also said that he should study several issues in history that aroused controversy in depth from Juche-oriented stand and as such issues were historical ones, he should make a sincere study of historical records. And he asked him about his age and wished him good health and successes in his work in the future.

On June 17, Juche 78 (1989), the President met scholars in Mt. Myohyang. He first asked about their health and warmly told an official in the sector of public health to take good care of the health of old scholars and that such historians as Dr. Pak Si Hyong and Dr. Choe Hui Guk were very precious old experienced scholars.

Thanks to his loving care that got warmer as days went by, he, together with several scholars, was able to get comprehensive examination at a very old age, cure not only for his teeth but also for his eyesight and hearing troubles, thus devoting himself to scientific research, full of youthful vitality, so as to fully solve many problems remained unsolved in the national history on the basis of scientific data from the Juche-oriented stand.

Under the warm affection of Chairman Kim Jong Il who was the same as the President, he did scientific research in youthful vitality and could celebrate his 90th birthday.

The Chairman sent him foodstuff on his 90th birthday, as did the President, so as to glorify the life of a historian who was under the care of the WPK.

He always remembered the great love and benevolence bestowed on him by the President and the Chairman and was determined to train the younger generation into loyal revolutionaries who would firmly trust in and follow the Party.

He was able to grow up to be a history professor, a doctor and an academician thanks to the warm care and distinguished guidance of the President and the Chairman, an outstanding teacher, a peerless patriot, who defended and glorified the history of Korean nation more than anyone else.

Thanks to their warm love and benevolent affection, he could lead a worthwhile life as a historian of Juche Korea.
