Yang Kyong Il, Wrestler of Ryongnamsan Sports Team, Tops World Rankings in Men's 57kg Freestyle Wrestling

According to the announcement of United World Wrestling, Yang Kyong Il, wrestler of Ryongnamsan Sports Team of Kim Il Sung University, was selected as the first in world rankings in the category of 57kg of male freestyle wrestling.

Recently UWW has published the world rankings of wrestlers. It decided the world rankings in all 24 weight categories; 8 in male Greco-Roman style, 8 in female freestyle and 8 in male freestyle.

UWW publishes regularly the world rankings of wrestlers in weight categories according to the results of world championships, regional championships and other international tournaments.

Yang Kyong Il won the 2014 world championship in men's 57kg freestyle wrestling. In the semi-final he beat his Iranian counterpart, winner of the 2013 world wrestling championship and in the final Georgian wrestler, silver medalist of 2012 Olympic Games.
