Yang Kyong Il, wrestler at the university's Ryongnamsan Sports Team, won the men's 57kg freestyle at the 2014 World Wrestling Championships, bringing glory to Songun Korea.
The championships, which were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in September, 2014, drew over 700 male and female athletes from 80-odd countries and regions.
He cruised to victory, beating the Georgian rival in the final.
