An international academic symposium was held at the university on September 23~24, 2014 with the theme of "Linguistics, Literature and History of Korea". It brought together over 40 scholars from 17 universities and research institutions in six countries including Russia and Germany, 80 local scholars, and representatives of Pyongyang-based diplomatic missions.
Eighty-four papers were presented in the symposium.
