At the September 5th Prize University Students Sports Competition which occurred from August 4th to 19th, the students of
Our students won the first place in Competition like volleyball (both men and women), basketball (both men and women), table tennis (women), badminton (men) and swimming (both men and women), and won medals in several events of the Competition; thus won the first place overall.
Our university sports players won gold medals in 9 events of this Competition by displaying sports techniques which gained through their tireless effort, dogged spirit and the team's power of unity to the full extent; thus they fully demonstrated the mettle and dauntlessness of the Ryongnamsan youths.
Men volleyball players all won the 5 matches by 2 to 0 including the one with Kim Chol Ju University of Education in the group stage by displaying various techniques like powerful service and spike, one-man and joint block; claimed an overwhelming victory by beating Kim Hyong Jik University of Education in the final.
Women volleyball players beat Pyongyang Teacher's College and Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies both by 2 to 0, and in the semi-final Jang Chol Gu Pyongyang University of Commerce by 3 to 0 by implementing various techniques like receiving with fast steps and spiking the low and fast ball; and beat Kim Hyong Jik University of Education by 3 to 1 and won the first place.
By using advanced techniques like witty dribbling, counter-attack by fast break and long distance bomb, our men basketball players beat the teams like Kim Chol Ju University of Education by 34 to 22, Pyongyang College of Computer Technology by 51 to 19, Pyongyang University of Architecture by 35 to 25 and Jang Chol Gu Pyongyang University of Commerce by 55 to 29; and in the final, again beat Kim Chol Ju University of Education by 29 to 19 thus emerged victorious.
Our women basketball players too beat Kim Chol Ju University of Education with overwhelming score in the final and won the first place.
Our women table tennis players firmly took the initiative and actively applied techniques like various service and receive, powerful drive; so beat Kim Chaek University of Technology by 3 to 1 and 4 teams including Han Tok Su Pyongyang University of Light Industry etc. by 3 to 0 each, thus won the first place in this event.
Just like previous times, again in this competition, our men and women swimming players claimed victory each in various sub-events displaying fast speed and perseverance to the full extent.
Our men badminton players skillfully combined the techniques of well-organized team work of front and back, successive strike, pushing ball and bunt so beat 4 teams including Jang Chol Gu Pyongyang University of Commerce etc. by 3 to 0 each and defeated Kim Hyong Jik University of Education by 3 to 2 thus won the first place.
Apart from these our students won medals in several events including Taekwondo etc.
Our university won the first place at the September 5th Prize University Students Sports Competition thanks to the hidden efforts of teachers in the sports department including the department leader Pak Chol Man, teachers Ra Jong Chol, Ro Myong Nam, Ryu Kang, Yu Chol Su, Ri Myong Hui.
