Donation certificate of Kim Il Sung University Fund was awarded to Ri Chun Il, vice director of Beijing Office of Yenbien University and co-manager of Burgeoning Advertisement Limited Company of China.
The ceremony was held in the e-library of Kim Il Sung University on June 23, 2015.
Prior to the ceremony, Ri Chun Il and his party paid tribute to the statue of Leader Kim Jong Il on Ryongnam Hill.
Ri Yong Hui, head of external relations office of Kim Il Sung University, introduced Ri Chun Il and about his donation to the participants.
Ri Chun Il, an overseas Korean scholar who graduated from Kim Il Sung University, authored a thesis 'Theory of Economic Construction of the DPRK in Songun Era and Its Vitality' and received PhD degree of the DPRK.
He made material contributions to the successful opening of the international scientific symposiums held at Kim Il Sung University, and afterwards donated, on several occasions, tree-saplings of good species, seeds of grain and vegetables, fertilizers and various equipment.
He was the first to donate money, amounting to $10,000, to Kim Il Sung University Fund.
Ri Yong Hui expressed her belief that many patriotic overseas Koreans would make sincere and substantial contributions to the strengthening and development of the prestigious Kim Il Sung University, the highest institution of Juche education and science, which is shining with the august name of President Kim Il Sung and associated with the immortal exploits of Leader Kim Jong Il.
Thae Hyong Chol, president of Kim Il Sung University and concurrently Minister of Higher Education of the DPRK, awarded the donation certificate to Ri Chun Il.
Then Ri Chun Il made the remark.
Expressing his excitement at the fact that the sacred alma mater highly praised his contributions, he said that he would make redoubled efforts for the development of Kim Il Sung University, his alma mater, which is associated with great loving care and dedication of President Kim Il Sung and Leader Kim Jong Il.
Saying that the establishment of Kim Il Sung University Fund is now arousing a great sensation among overseas compatriots, he expressed his conviction that the Fund would make great contributions to the development of the university.
He continued to say that the DPRK, which is further developing and prospering with the passage of time under the wise leadership of the respected Marshal, gives great impressions to him, PhD of the DPRK and graduate of Kim Il Sung University. He sincerely wished the DPRK final victory in the building of a thriving nation and Kim Il Sung University eternal development.
After the ceremony the participants had a photo session.
Ri Chun Il and his party looked round the e-library, swimming complex and other facilities of the university and educators' apartment houses of Kim Il Sung University.
