Only those who treasure all the things on this land and are aware of the preciousness of their country can cherish ennobling ideological feeling of patriotism."
Patriotism grows from love or pride of things of one's own.
The love of one's own is precious emotive feeling that regards everything they created as being valuable: this affection is precious because it makes them to cherish noble and firmly determined to do their best to glorify their own creations. Only when we highly regard our own creations will we be able to readily devote our life to our motherland, and the more such patriotic people, more resplendent our country will be. The love for and pride in one's own things can be settled deep in one's mind only when one's mind is well nurtured from childhood.
Cultivating children so that they can love everything of their own needs an environment where they could be encouraged to do so.

On October 5, Juche 102(2013), he visited the construction site of Okryu Children's Hospital nearing its completion.
The Children's Hospital was under construction by Korean People's Army soldiers who were devotedly working in hearty response to the Marshal
Looking around various interior of the hospital building, he came to see the wall at the back of the Nurse Post at Cardiovascular Surgery Department. The wall was decorated with fairy-tale pictures and plastic animal ornaments from animation movies of other nations.
The respected Marshal suggested that the characters and animals could be drawn directly on the walls or their plastic sheets stuck from Korean animation movies such as The Boy General and Clever Raccoon Dog as well as those from foreign animation films.
The accompanying officials were moved because they only thought of adding foreign animation stills to the walls for prospective little patients as they fit children's innocent mind, without due regard to putting images from Korea's famous animation films.
The animated cartoons like The Boy General and Clever Raccoon Dog are typical children's favourites. The protagonist Soemae from The Boy General who bravely and tactfully fights against the invading enemies defending the country, and the personified raccoon dog from Clever Raccoon Dog is a choice cartoon among kids because of his unrivalled cleverness as he solves knotty problems directly though he is smaller and less nimble than other characters like cat or bear.
Not only the animal characters from foreign animations, he mentioned, but also the Korean cartoon character images such as The Boy General and Clever Raccoon Dog could be drawn directly or stuck as plastic picture plates on the walls. If you show the little patients only foreign movie characters and animals, he continued, they may be erroneously enchanted by merely things foreign without knowing things of our own.
The attending officials thought. Once they grow up watching foreign stuffs only from their early years, they would neither know how superior and precious their own things are nor foster affectionate feeling for their motherland, let alone being educated in patriotism. Children therefore should be inspired to love things of their own rather than foreign things nurturing their patriotic mind from their childhood.
