The Popular Policy of the DPRK Which Regards Children as the King of the Country

 2020.6.17.

They say the true image of a political system, a society and its politics is reflected in children.

From olden days it has been said that the love for children is the most devoted and the deepest, whose beautiful feeling cannot be concocted or forced upon. The country where such warm and ardent love flourishes to the full and where children are regarded as the king of the country is none other than the country in the east, the DPR of Korea.

No matter how hard we try, we cannot find in the world children as Korean children who are regarded as the king of the country and enjoy all the happiness thanks to the great love and benevolent care of the Party and the state.

Children can be said to be the flower of a country, nation and humankind.

Therefore, the destiny of a country and nation depends on how the coming generations are taken care of and brought up to be the master of the future to shoulder future of the country.

Without love for children, one cannot talk about love for the coming generation and the future of a country and nation.

That's why all the great men who devoted their all for the development of humankind and society regarded love for children as one of the greatest virtues. But even their love has not yet reached that level as high as the love and devotion for children shown by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the Great Leaders of Korea and Kim Jong Un.

The respected General Secretary spares nothing for children who had been held up as the king of the country by the Great Leaders, and takes care of them with warm love and deep affection greater than the love of the millions of mothers combined.

The first point is that in the DPRK, children's human rights are guaranteed to the full and the love for the coming generation is given the top priority among all the other affairs of the state.

How children are treated and taken care of is one of the criteria with which to assess the future and the level of human rights provision of a society.

In an exploiting society, a capitalist society, where children's future depends not on the state and society, but on their parents and the amount of money they possess, parents alone could be thought of as the sole protector of children. What is even worse, not all parents could become the protectors of their children. It is the physiology and the corrupt reality of a capitalist society where children are sold in return for money and where children even kill their parents for money.

Today the fact that children become the victims of poverty, disease and crime is giving rise to serious concern of the international community.

It is the miserable reality of today's capitalist societies where children's lives are constantly under threat and they fall victims of various sorts of crimes not to mention their being imposed to sexual assaults, at a time when they should be doing cute things and be fulfilling their dreams under the protection of the state and society and care their parents.

However, in the DPRK, children are regarded as the king of the country and a precious treasure and their human rights are guaranteed to the full.

Kim Jong Un attended the National Meeting of the Korean Children's Union held on June 6, Juche101(2012) in celebration of the 66th anniversary of its founding to give them his blessing and made a speech.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"We should bring up the younger generations as comprehensively developed talents who are prepared politically and ideologically and are highly creative, morally sound and physically fit."

Children in Korea are regarded as precious treasures more valuable than billions of tons of gold and as representing the hope and future, and nothing is spared for the coming generation.

There is a story of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, who used his long-saved 20 wons, which was his mother's last property, to clothe the ill-clad children of Ma'anshan during the anti-Japanese guerilla days. And after the country's liberation, he discussed the pencil issue for children as the first agenda item of the Provisional People's Committee. The above stories are already well-known to the world.

No one has yet been such a great father as Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the Great Leaders of Korea, who had regarded children as the king of the country and had stressed the importance of love for the coming generation in the affairs of the Party and the state and had devoted their whole life for them.

In the DPRK today, thanks to the politics of sublime love by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who has inherited the ideas of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the Great Leaders of Korea, of attaching importance to the coming generation, children are regarded as the king of the country.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who regards the growing younger generation as treasures more valuable than billions of tons of gold and as representing the hope and future of the country, visited the children of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on New Year's Day for their parents, kept visiting them to give his warm love and affection, which cannot even be given by their real parents. In this way he has flourished the whole country with love for the coming generation despite the fact that he is charged with a heavy responsibility as the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army and has to take care of countless affairs of the state.

Under the care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who regards children as the most precious treasures of the country and gives the top priority to any work for children, Korean children are held up as the king of the country and enjoy a happy life envying nothing in the world.

The next point is that in the DPRK, the Party and the state spare nothing in order to fulfill children's beautiful dreams, and everything is provided for the coming generation.

There is an old saying that you need a lot of efforts to bring up a child.

It means that parents should give constant and meticulous care and love to their children and exert efforts during their growth so that they become healthy and upright. The same holds true for the state as well.

If no state and social concern is directed to the sound growth of children and because of that they resent their parents, abuse politicians, curse the world and shed tears at the chaotic realities, then that country is undoubtedly the one without any future and with gloomy prospects.

However, in the DPRK where people hold in high esteem the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who has cherished a boundless noble love for the coming generation, you can find children's palaces and their bright and cheerful faces wherever you go.

It is not only due to its charming appearance that Songdowon International Children's Camp, which is built on the coast of clear and pure East Sea of Korea, attracts the special attention of the international society. They are more attracted to the unusual reality of the DPRK where children are regarded as the King of the country and where all their dreams are being fully realized.

The world is more surprised by the fact that every modern facility at Songdowon International Children's Camp is provided to children at no cost, ordinary children of working parents including workers, farmers and coal-miners and even parentless children also go there when in other countries it is the favor to be enjoyed only by a handful of children of millionaires or privileged classes and that all of the above-mentioned is the embodiment and the result of the consistent and invariable line and policy of the Party and the government.

During the days of building the Children's Palace, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was always concerned about how to turn it into a palace with everything in it and he came up with an idea of building a Mirror House close to the archery field.

The senior officials who participated in its construction were very surprised at his idea as the construction would cost a fortune.

At their surprise, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said with all his earnestness that he would give all that is good in the world for children.

Hence came into being the Mirror House of mysterious "maze", where children from home and abroad enjoy playing in it filled with both horror and excitement.

Songdowon International Children's Camp, which is splendidly built by the noble love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is indeed the only Palace and Paradise for children.

"Born in a baby palace, brought up in a children's palace", which is a short phrase of a song, reflects the true image of Korean children.

As the noble love for the coming generation of the Worker's Party of Korea is flourishing, Pyongyang Baby Home and Pyongyang Orphanage were built at a dash on the bank of the beautiful River Taedong and astounded the world people.

The Baby Home and Pyongyang Orphanage are equipped with various entertainment and facilities including nursing rooms and education rooms, fitness rooms, intelligence playrooms, which all remind of the fairy-tale world, and here children are growing up with no envy in the world.

Who would ever say that they are parentless children when one sees their happy and bright faces with no shadow at all!

The story of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who paid several visits to Munsu Water Park, Okryu Children's Hospital and Songdowon International Children's Camp picturing children's bright faces who would bask in happiness, and the story of his having done a calculation in his handbook while he was looking round the newly-built seafood freezing facilities to find out the amount of fish to feed the children of the baby homes, orphanages, orphan's primary and secondary schools across the country, greatly touched the people's heart.

The superb Okryu Children's Hospital is the children's healthcare centre to be taken pride in for it has not only modern medical equipment but also treatment rooms and playgrounds, all of which are perfectly furnished to suit children's liking.

In such a flower garden of great love where children's beautiful dreams are secured and protected, Korean children lead a carefree and happy life and are always filled with laughter and happiness.

When capitalist countries depend on retrenchment policies and reduction of budget spending on public sectors, the DPRK increases state investment on education.

The universal compulsory 12-year education enforced in the DPRK provides ever better conditions for children to further show their talents and to prepare themselves as an excellent talented personnel who would be shouldering the future of their country.

When you look around the world, there have been statesmen who have shown a deep concern for education and there have been countries that have exerted efforts for the development of its education.

However, there hasn't been a single statesman who had shown an ardent love for the rising generation and has provided free education for the entire new generation so that they can grow up to become a reliable pillar of the country and who has provided lifelong education for the entire people so that they can study to their hearts' content.

Moreover, there hasn't ever been a country in the world which has regarded education as an important national affair and has pushed it forward as an all-Party and all-people work on a nation-wide scale although it is undergoing hardships and suffering from insufficiency.

Huge national investment which is being made on educating children despite the country's insufficiency and more important national projects is a brilliant fruition of the respected General Secretary's profound noble love for the rising generation.

Indeed, there are lots of countries and children in the world but there are no children as happy as Korean children who are regarded as the King of the country and are realizing their beautiful dreams singing the song "We Are the Happiest in the World".

This is why the political and social figures of many countries of the world express their amazement and admiration for Korean children as they are held up as the King of the country and are leading a lively and happy life and are envious of the good popular policies for children.

The newspapers, magazines, news, radio, TV and the Internet websites in many countries of the world vied with one another in broadcasting and posting the stories of love and care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for children, including the news of his having examined the samples of overcoats to newly clothe the pupils of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, the news of his having indulged the children skating at People's Outdoor Ice Rink and having had a photo session with them and the news of his having visited Pyongyang Baby Home and Pyongyang Orphanage to give his new year's blessings to the children there as soon as he has delivered the new year's address.

The political parties and organizations of many countries also released statements expressing their admiration for the noble viewpoint on the future and the rising generation of Kim Jong Un and are highly praising the popular policies of the DPRK for its children.

It is the stark reality of the DPRK that the politics of true love for the rising generation is enforced in the country and children are regarded as the King with nothing to envy in the world and are growing up to be the master of the future. There isn't any slightest doubt that the DPRK's future will be ever brighter as it is at present and as it has always been in past.
