A Factory for Scientists

Among the revolutionary anecdotes of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who gives much prominence to our scientists and technicians enough to be envied by everybody, is a story that warms our hearts as following.

Rodong Sinmun on February 16, Juche 110 (2021) reads that the Unjong Pig Factory under the State Academy of Sciences was inaugurated.

Everybody was moved by the fact that the modern pig factory for scientists was built, for it has much to do with the boundless love of the respected General Secretary for our scientists and technicians.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Our Party values scientists and technicians dearly, and gives prominence to them."

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the State Academy of Sciences as his first field guidance of the year in January Juche 107 (2018) to give precious instructions which would serve as guidelines in the development of science and technology of the country.

The officials paid deep thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, in the name of all the staff, for his visit on that significant day, when Chairman Kim Jong Il had visited 19 years ago.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un inspected the face-lifted revolutionary museum of the State Academy of Sciences and the scientific exhibition hall for a long time, and stressed the need to improve the supply service for scientists and technicians, saying that it is important to take good care of the livelihood of scientists and technicians and that we should think much of scientists and technicians before their scientific and technical successes.

His high-mindedness of valuing scientists and technicians touched the heartstrings of the officials.

After a while, the respected General Secretary familiarized himself in detail with the actual condition of welfare supply base of the Academy before saying that the work of strengthening the logistic foundation should be done on an annual basis and that the State Academy of Sciences should have a modern pig factory built.

The officials found themselves looking back on his previous visit of some years ago.

That unforgettable day the respected General Secretary had gladly said that scientists were very happy to get fish he had sent them, and we should take good care of them as they started their new-year campaign with no rest and recuperation.

He also said he would send fish to them again on the occasion of the Lunar New Year's day, and told the officials to distribute fish to other affiliates including Hamhung Branch.

The scientists were very pleased to get the fish sent by the respected General Secretary again.

Some days later, he sent them large-and medium-size buses for scientists to use every day as well as on the way to and from the holiday camp.

And after all this, he now took a meaningful measure to build a pig factory for scientists and technicians.

That day the respected General Secretary said the pig factory should be a modern one and be run in a scientific way so that it could practically contribute to the well-being of scientists and could be a model one of the country.

He personally examined the design and layout of the pig factory and clarified all issues arising in its construction and operation.

True to his noble idea, the builders built the factory in a little more than a year and successfully manufactured dozens of equipment needed. It has clear division of educational and living areas, and all blocks have been built on practical and formative basis; breeding block, growing block, fattening block, test block, central control room, meat-processing block, feed-processing block, protein-rich feed production block, sewage purifying site, and others.

The factory, born of the loving care of the respected General Secretary, has labour-saving, energy-saving and land-saving production processes and home-made equipment as befit the model pig factory of the country.

On the inauguration day of the factory, all the staff of the State Academy of Sciences were full of strong emotion, saying themselves that scientists in our country are the happiest and most proud ones under the care of the peerlessly great men.
