President
Chairman
"Busy as he was immediately after liberation, Comrade
The noble loyalty to the revolutionary comrades and love for the rising generations of President
The President ensured that the rice donated to the country by Kim Je Won and other peasants was used for the construction of the revolutionary school after the liberation.
It was January 21, Juche 36 (1947) when the flames of the general ideological mobilization movement for building the country were raging throughout the country and the movement on a nationwide scale was taking place among peasants in different parts of the country to donate the surplus grains after paying the tax in kind.
That day President
The President listened to the chairman reporting on progress in economy of the province. Then the chairman suggested that the rice donated by the peasants in South Phyongan Province would be allowed to be given to the workers and office workers in the province as salaries.
In fact, it was very urgent to raise funds for the salaries of workers and office workers under the difficult economic situation of the country at that time.
Having thought of his suggestion for a while, the President said that the rice should not be used for salaries, but it should be used for more valuable work.
And then he said; the rice donated by the peasants, who have become owners of the land as a result of the agrarian reform after the liberation, should be used as funds for the construction of the revolutionary school where the children of revolutionary martyrs will study, and the most important one of many tasks facing us today is to educate them at the state expense.
The teaching of the President had a deep meaning; it is natural that the school for the bereaved children of revolutionaries should be built at the state expense, but if the donated rice is used for the building of the school, it will be of greater political significance in the sense that the construction will be conducted as an all-people work and the patriotic spirit of the peasants will be handed down from generation to generation.
The news that President
This was not the only story about white rice.
After the country's liberation, the Korean compatriots living in northeastern China presented white rice to the President, which he also sent to the children of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School.
On November 14, Juche 37(1948) Zhou Bao-zhong, an anti-Japanese revolutionary martyr of China, presented the President with 1 000 bags of white rice as a gift.
The President said to him that the sons and daughters of the revolutionary comrades who had died while fighting together were studying at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, and he would send this rice to them.
Then the President asked Zhou Bao-zhong and members of the delegation to meet the children and tell them to study well so as to succeed their parents who had died in the fight against the enemy.
Thus the 1 000 bags of white rice with the sincerity of the Korean compatriots in northeastern China were sent to Mangyongdae Revolutionary School.
