The Standard and Targets of Modernization

The Tenth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK stressed the need to give priority to quality rather than quantity in production.

This is the age of the concept of attaching importance to machinery and equipment, in which the quality of the product is ensured by the level of modernization of the machinery and equipment.

In other words, the main factor determining the quality of a product is the quality of machinery and equipment.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"It is necessary to properly conduct the work of improving the performance of the existing equipment by applying the information technology while introducing the new latest machinery."

Under the wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, the self-supporting economy of Korea has now reached a steady upward trend and is rapidly growing stronger to be able to simultaneously launch the gigantic fronts for the wellbeing of all the people.

In Korea, they are pushing ahead with its modernization in the aspect of the machine-building industry, the foundation of technological progress, in order to ensure that this favorable situation is brought to overall national rejuvenation.

The respected general secretary visited major factories and enterprises with members of the Party Central leadership organs, with a plan to bring about a fresh upsurge in the development of the national economy and make the overall socialist construction seethe with creation and changes right after the Tenth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK finish.

It was a significant occasion to feel keenly once again that the eternal foundation of the power shining with independence, self-support and self-defense could be laid thanks to the wise leadership of the WPK which has vigorously pushed ahead with the development of the munitions industry, regarding the self-reliant defense as the mainstay of defending sovereignty, national interests and developing the revolution.

That day the general secretary taught us that the level of the modernization of our national defense industry is the standard and goal to be met by not only the machine-building industry but also all sectors of the national economy.

Under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the DPRK is pushing ahead with the modernization of production processes at all economic units.

The Korean people, who have turned out in the construction of the powerful socialist country upholding the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, will modernize all sectors of the national economy on a world level and produce high quality goods by their own efforts in the near future, thus further accelerating the overall development of socialism by dint of the self-supporting economy.
