As legendary stories of love for the people have been created in socialist Korea day after day, the Kwangchon Chicken Farm, another crystallization of the great father's devotion to the people, was successfully built there as a new criterion and model in the development of the country's poultry industry on January 7, 2024.
Whenever I see the citizens of Pyongyang being quite pleased to be supplied with products from the Kwangchon Chicken Farm, I recollect with deep emotion the image of the respected General Secretary
Kwangchon-ri in Hwangju County of North Hwanghae Province was not well known.
Now it has become a significant locality which, along with the chicken farm built as a precious asset of the country, tells about the devoted efforts of the respected General Secretary for the people.
The breeding houses with production lines put on a fully automated, intensive and scientific basis and a high-level veterinary and anti-epizootic and experimental analysis system, leisure facilities and rows of dwelling houses going well with the local landscape and straight roads—how did all these come into being?
In retrospect, the chicken farm was built as a poultry farming base envied and visited by everyone to learn from it and as an exemplary area in implementing the Party's policies thanks to the meticulous instructions and energetic guidance given by the respected General Secretary for the construction and management of the farm.
He selected the site for the chicken farm to become a model for the development of the country's poultry industry, solved all problems arising in the construction including the design and the supply of materials and funds and paid close attention to the construction of a fodder farm for normal operation of the chicken farm and that of dwelling houses.
Still feeling uneasy, he visited the construction site of the farm on one hottest July day in 2020. Expressing his firm intention to ensure that the Kwangchon Chicken Farm would be built as the one with a high automatic and scientific level and a high intensive level in the production of eggs and meat to become a model and standard of the country's poultry industry, he gave detailed instructions on the issues of automating all production processes at a high level, constructing the chicken farm in a qualitative way and establishing a strict hygienic and epidemic prevention system and on those of fodder, electricity water supply and transport.
Looking round the construction site of the chicken farm in detail in sultry weather for a long time, he pictured the future of the farm which would be soon completed and the happy looks of the people who would be pleased to be supplied with products from the farm.
Besides, a paper box for 12 eggs and paper case for 30 eggs made for the convenience of the people are associated with his loving care.
He earnestly stressed the need to establish a paper egg case production process and egg packing process at the Kwangchon Chicken Farm and install at the egg packing process the equipment for checking their quality.
Afterwards, too, he showed deep concern for the construction of the Kwangchon Chicken Farm on several occasions to give detailed guidance over equipment, the preparations for its operation and the plan for landscaping the compound of the farm. At each important meeting, including the 2nd and 3rd plenary meetings of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, he gave important instructions for building the Kwangchon Chicken Farm as a model of the country's poultry farming.
The image of the respected General Secretary making such painstaking efforts to provide the people with tasty chicken and eggs was the image of a dear mother devoting her all to her children, sparing no pains.
As it is a precious asset for the people created that way, the respected General Secretary visited the Kwangchon Chicken Farm on January 7, 2024 though he had many other places to visit at the beginning of the gigantic advance of the year.
That day he saw with satisfaction the streams of chicken and eggs flowing from the modern production process and clearly indicated the way ahead of the farm.
He gave instructions on steadily putting the chicken farm on a more modern and scientific footing as befitting a model unit leading the development of the country's poultry farming and an advanced sci-tech disseminating base, lowering production costs and improving the quality of products by optimizing and standardizing the technical control and equipment, breeding and feed management, and generalizing the experience in the construction and modernization of the farm on a nationwide scale and continuing to expand the successes so as to bring about a substantial change in the people's living.
Looking up to the benevolent image of the great father who knows no satisfaction in the work for the people, the officials had a lump in their throat.
He repeatedly stressed to the officials the need for the Kwangchon Chicken Farm to hold fast to the normalization of production as an important policy-oriented task, properly organize the production and management activities and constantly increase the production capacity so as to provide the people with much more meat and eggs.
One month later, the products of the Kwangchon Chicken Farm arrived in Pyongyang and began to be supplied to citizens through various commercial service bases.
Different parts of the city resounded with happy laughter of the people who are glad to be supplied with the tasty products of the Kwangchon Chicken Farm.
The respected General Secretary spares nothing for the people, saying that the people's happy laughter represents the foremost national power.
The Kwangchon Chicken Farm will convey his noble devotion and outlook on the people year after year.
