The great benefactor of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan

Chairman Kim Jong Il devoted his everything solely for the people and their happiness all his life regarding them as Heaven and always took warm care of Chongryon and Korean compatriots in Japan with parental affection regarding them as one family of the same blood.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"The great Comrade Kim Jong Il was an outstanding leader who, true to President Kim Il Sung's great idea, developed Chongryon into a vanguard patriotic movement, into a model of patriotic loyalty to the motherland and into a model overseas compatriots' movement. He was also the saviour of the destiny of Chongryon and of the Koreans resident in Japan."

In April Juche 71(1982), when the whole country and the whole world were filled with deep reverence for President Kim Il Sung, the Korean community in Japan was filled with great emotion and excitement. The great leader had sent three roots of insam to every child of Koreans in Japan ranging from kindergarten kids to primary school pupils. The entire Korean compatriots in Japan were deeply grateful. They were even more moved when they learned that the children in the homeland had received one root of insam per child. They were all moved to tears of emotion, keenly realizing the love of the benevolent father who showed special loving care for them with the feelings of parents who were more concerned with children living far away.

The story about the Seventh Congress of the then Socialist Working Youth League of Korea in October Juche 70(1981) also touches the hearts of all people. At that time, twenty-two Korean young students from Japan arrived in the homeland receiving cordial welcome of the people in the homeland. The preparatory committee selected eight delegates of the young students in the homeland and two delegates of the Korean young students from Japan as those who would present a letter of loyalty to President Kim Il Sung on the first day of the Congress. A congratulatory group of Korean youth and students in Japan was planned to present their congratulatory flag on the second day of the Congress.

Learning about the fact, Chairman Kim Jong Il instructed that if only two delegates from the Relay Race Team of Korean Youth and Students in Japan are allowed to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung, the rest of them would be very disappointed, and that they should not do so considering the sincerity with which they had travelled all the way over the East Sea with letters from all organizations of Chongryon in remote Japan. He continued that a congratulatory group of Korean youth and students in Japan should be rescheduled to present the congratulatory flag on the first day of the Congress, not on the second day.

The warm loving care of Chairman Kim Jong Il to put up the sons and daughters living in an alien land onto the place of honor touched the hearts of the officials. As a result, 22 young Korean people and students from different parts of Japan presented, in profound respect, their best wishes to the President one by one at the Congress.

Even in the grim period of the Arduous March and forced march, when the Chairman led the struggle to defend the destiny of the country, he never forgot Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, and took important state measures for the work of Chongryon and the life of Koreans in Japan one after another.

When the great Hansin earthquake broke out in Japan, the Chairman was grieved more than anyone else over the misfortune the Koreans in Japan were suffering, saying that the people in the homeland should send a large amount of consolation money to the Koreans in Japan even if the former live on gruel and starve, and instilled the life-giving water of love into the Korean society in Japan suffering misfortune. At that time, the Koreans in Japan witnessed the ardent compatriotism of the Chairman identical to the President, who used to send a colossal amount of education aid fund and stipends, emphasizing that even though the people in the homeland tightened their belts and could not afford to build more factories, they should send the money for the education of the children of compatriots in Japan. All the Koreans in Japan said, choked with emotion, that thanks to the warm embrace of the benevolent motherland, there could be disasters to the compatriots in Japan, but there could be no misfortune; there would be no such happy overseas compatriots in the world as the Korean compatriots in Japan living in the embrace of the benevolent homeland revering the Chairman as their father.

Even in the grim period when the whole country was on the Arduous March, the forced march, the Chairman instructed that the system and tradition of sending educational aid fund and stipends to Chongryon established by President Kim Il Sung should be maintained as they were, and that the period of remittance should not be altered or its amount reduced but should be sent as it used to be when the President was in office. This earnest instruction is still touching the hearts of Koreans in Japan.

Thanks to such great loving care and affection of the great leader, Chongryon could establish a well-regulated educational system ranging from primary school to university despite the difficult situation in the foreign land and enforce the advantageous democratic national education startling the world people.

His warm loving care and benevolence for Chongryon and Koreans in Japan are being carried forward by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. He solemnly declared that he would value Chongryon, the patriotic legacy of Juche, and protect it in every way and do everything for the dignified life and bright future of Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan, saying that they are of the same flesh and blood with deep feelings though they are far away from the homeland.

On the day when his words were passed onto the sons and daughters of the alien country moved into tears recollecting the earnest voice of the Chairman, who said that he could never forget Chongryon forever and called for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche together with the motherland thinking of Chongryon, and Chongryon thinking of the motherland.

Indeed, thanks to the loving care shown by the Respected General Secretary, who regards Chongryon as a part of the socialist homeland and the Koreans in Japan as their own brothers and family members in the same blood as their motherland, the image of sun of Kim Jong Il will shine forever in the hearts of Koreans in Japan as that of a generous father.
