Whenever the people are in agony

 2021.10.8.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said.

"Officials should go among the masses and share good times and bad with them."

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that it is the first and foremost task of the officials of the Party Central Committee, who is the supreme general staff of the Korean revolution, to share good times and bad with the people and solve their problems as soon as possible as their true father and mother, while locating themselves close to them especially when they are in agony rather than usual days. He clarified that this is also the party climate peculiar to the great Workers' Party of Korea that gives top priority to the interests and conveniences of the people and regards them as absolute and the noble customs of the genuine people's country. In hearty response to his noble intention, the officials of the Party Central Committee vigorously waged the struggle for the reconstruction of disaster areas while sharing sweets and bitters and the affection of kinship with the people in several counties of South Hwanghae Province suffered from damage by the typhoon, thus giving birth to a story touching the heartstrings of all the people.

All the maize stalks that had been growing straight towards the blue sky were laying sideways with their heads inclined, the dark green leaves that had covered the field so thickly that no earth could be seen were torn up into shreds and whirled up by the wind and the golden-colored rice plants darkened as if they had withered by the harsh gale.

The tiles of the roof had been flown away, the cozy fences crumbled, and even the walls of the dwelling houses collapsed.

The agony of losing the crops that had been cultivated with sincerity throughout the solid spring and summer was just like the sad feeling that comes to those who have lost their beloved child.

In the afternoon of August 28th, when the residents of afflicted areas were enervated after the natural disasters only blaming the sky for sweeping away their valuable joy and pride in the crops they had raised with sincerity, appeared a rank of officials of the Party Central Committee in working clothes with the knapsacks on their backs before the farmers of the Kingogae Cooperative Farm in Ongjin County.

It was not the only cooperative farm that the officials were dispatched. They arrived at the Namhae cooperative Farm in Ongjin County and other different farms in Kangryong and Pyoksong counties suffered from damage by the typhoon.

The respected General Secretary gave instructions to tap all departments of the Party Central Committee to the rehabilitation of farmland and crops in South Hwanghae Province saying that it is one of our party's top priorities to go deep among the people in difficult and arduous times, sharing joys and sorrows, giving them strength and courage and helping them with sincerity and ours should be the Party Central Committee that is always with the people whether the situation is favorable or not. True to the lofty will of the respected Marshal, the officials of all departments of the Party Central Committee, together with their families, prepared materials to assist the people in disaster areas and rushed to the afflicted areas in South Hwanghae province, as soon as day was light.

He sent the officials of the Party Central Committee to the spot lest the people who suffered from a sudden disaster would be disappointed and personally guided them cautiously inquiring into their activities.

A few days later, when the officials who had been sent to various farms in Ongjin, Kangryong and Pyoksong counties, came back with success in the work of arousing the people to the campaign for rehabilitating the damage caused by typhoon, sharing joy and sorrow with them, the respected General Secretary earnestly said that it is not a temporary task but an undertaking that should be conducted on a steady and regular basis that officials go deeper and closer to the people as long as our Party exists.

September 3rd, 2020 was the day when typhoon No. 9 hit our country following by typhoon No. 8.

At the very moment when a general typhoon alarm was in operation and there was neither a passerby nor a car in the streets of the capital city, there was a bus procession advancing vigorously while riding out fierce wind and stormy rain.

It was none other than the officials of the Party Central Committee who were heading for the flood-hit areas of South Hwanghae Province.

As a result, an impressive picture of a harmonious whole in which the Party and the people were rallied as one was unfolded on the Mansok Cooperative Farm in Ongjin County, the Jangsong Cooperative Farm, the Kumjong Cooperative Farm in Kangryong County, the Kumdong Farm, the Phyongmu Farm, the Woldap Cooperative Farm in Pyoksong County and the Taejuk Cooperative Farm.

Although the period that the officials of the Party Central Committee shared good times and bad with the people in the afflicted areas was not long, a warm-hearted emotion interflowed between the officials of the supreme staff of the revolution and ordinary farmers

The officials were willing to carry the A-frame in clay on their own back as if they had been born in the rural villages and told the stories so engagingly that they looked like indigenous residents. Especially they treated all the residents-young and old, men and women in the way they would do their own relatives and this free and easy trait attracted the people in no time.

They worked so briskly that it was difficult to distinguish the officials from the farmers at a working place.

They never took ill of inconvenient beds and simple meals and gave the farmers different kinds of daily necessities they had prepared with sincerity at home.

The officials who went to workteam No. 2 of the Pupho Farm in Kangryong County halted before the stream in front of the village.

In the rainy season, when the water was swollen, the stepping stones were under the water and the passerbys had to cross the stream with bare foot.

Feeling concern about the inconvenience of the farmers who had to come and go over the stream several times even in a day, they decided to build a bridge over the stream.

Whenever they had some free time, the officials explored the methods of building the foundations skipping the cofferdam process and confirmed the scientific accuracy and safety of the method with the help of researchers of Pyongyang University of Architecture. On this basis, they carried on building the bridge with campfires every night until they left the farm.

As a result, a cozy decent bridge with safety rails came into being over the stream and the officials left the farm village with great pleasure that they had been of help even a little to mitigate the inconvenience of the farmers.

When buses with the officials on began to move, all the farmers and inhabitants burst into tears and saw them off far away.

This sea of tears was an eruption of boundless gratitude to the respected General Secretary who values and loves the people most and who is training and leading the officials of the whole party to be embodied in the spirit of selflessly and devotedly serving the people, and of their firm pledge to go to the end following him.
