There are old persons in any country. But where else can the elderly lead a blessed life like those in our socialist country?
Revolutionary seniors!
Enjoying such appellation, old people on this land brimming with love and obligation are held in respect by younger people.
The respected Comrade
"We should make it a social climate and a tradition of the grand family of our country to take good care of the elderly."
The state takes full charge and care of the health and lives of the elderly, and respecting them and giving them preferential treatment have become a social trend.
This can be known at the Pyongyang Old People's Home standing alongside a children's palace on the banks of the beautiful Taedong River.
All pieces of furniture in the institution from mats, rugs and cushions in the floor-heated bedrooms to different kinds of electronic goods and wardrobes are associated with the familial love of the respected Comrade
In the wardrobes are hanging padded clothes, hats, summer clothes, sports uniforms, Korean skirts and jackets, the shoe chests are filled with shoes for different seasons and on the dressing tables there are high-quality cosmetics envied by young women.
The old people can hear the reading and singing of the children of the orphanage and baby home near their home, and when they get a little bored, they go to tend vegetables in the nice hydroponic greenhouse or get out on the yard to cheerfully sing songs such as Let the Days Go By. And they are provided with tasty and nutritious health-promoting foods for their meals. So what will they have to envy?
That's not all.
Under our socialist system, the state takes responsible care of their health and life.
The Socialist Constitution of the DPRK and its Public Health Law adopted decades ago stipulate that the state shall take care of the elderly's life and health in a responsible manner.
And the Law of the DPRK on the Care of the Elderly was adopted on April 26, 2007, offering a firm legal guarantee for providing the elderly with better living conditions.
Thus the number of centenarians is increasing in our country and the motherly Party sends birthday spreads to them on their 100th birthdays.
Around the world, there are many countries which boast eye-opening development and advanced civilization. But no country except ours is fully responsible for everything for the old, ranging from their home to their health and life.
This is why the old persons on this land say in unison that they enjoy a happy life in the era of the Workers' Party.
