The northern gateway to Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, boasts magnificent Jonwi Street, a grand monument to youth shining along with the noble title of young vanguard, fully displaying the indomitable mettle and valiant spirit of the young people as reliable reserves of the Workers' Party of Korea who are taking the lead in ushering in a new era of national prosperity.

The reliable young builders of the DPRK, who had braced themselves in the indomitable and patriotic spirit peculiar to the Korean youth charging through thick and thin in response to the call of the Party, successfully built the large architectural group, including more than 4 100 flats and many public buildings, in the Sopho area in a matter of one year, thus creating another legend of heroic youth demonstrating
The noble intention and far-reaching plan of the Workers' Party of Korea to train all the young people into reliable socialist builders and successors to the revolution provided a large living stage of the youth for opening up a new phase of the development of Juche-oriented architecture in the grand construction project at the peak of the golden age of Pyongyang construction.
In fact, the construction of the new street in the Sopho area of Pyongyang was significant not only in that it was the one for increasing the number of flats for citizens in the capital by several thousands.
It was of greater significance in displaying the character of the Korean revolution because it would clearly demonstrate to the world how enormous and great the advance and struggle of socialist Korea were and how vigorously they were expanding despite the difficulties.
The General Secretary entrusted the young people with the building of the new modern street that would match their high spirit and noble honour and took all necessary measures for the project, ranging from the formation of construction forces to the supply of equipment and materials and the establishment of a well-regulated command system. He also showed all kinds of love and care for them so that they could emerge as heroes of the times.
At the ground-breaking ceremony of the street on February 25, 2023, the General Secretary made a meaningful speech to encourage the young vanguard, who were full of enthusiasm and confidence to bring about a radical change on the forefront of the construction of the capital city, and signaled the start of ground-breaking with blasting.
He personally presented the flag of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade, symbol of the struggle and advance of the young people of the new generation, to the young builders and sent them diary books whose front covers bore the letters "My youth" in which they would write about their heroic feats to be included in the autobiographies of their precious youth.
He also gave great strength and courage to the inexperienced and unskilled members of the youth shock brigade by providing them with various kinds of foodstuffs and fruits lest they should hesitate or be tired in the face of difficulties so that they could only advance bravely.
He also saw to it that the heroic feats of the members of the youth shock brigade were widely introduced to the whole country through newspapers and radio and benevolently had a photo session with them during the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
Under the great love and trust of the Workers' Party of Korea, the passionate young people of the DPRK volunteered for the construction site of the new street in the capital city and completed such a gigantic miraculous creation, proud success for the country and the people which symbolizes the steady advance of socialist Korea toward a rosy future, by displaying the courage and mettle of the young Korean people.
Jonwi Street, which was built despite the severest difficulties to shine with the proud name of young vanguard, is a precious fruition of the idea of attaching importance to the youth of the WPK, which has held young people in its warm embrace of love, put them forward and trained them as heroes of the times and giants of creation, and a proud success that demonstrated the heroism of the Korean youth who are the most excellent in the world once again.
Indeed, the completion of the new modern street, which wrote another brilliant chapter in the history of the youth movement in the DPRK, was a significant event which demonstrated the might of the organizational ability and unity of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, a reliable reserve of the WPK. And the future of the DPRK is bright as it has a huge army of young people who are infinitely faithful to the cause of the WPK, forming manifold fortresses around the Party.
