The word "the place of origin" refers to the country where the product was produced first. Clearly identifying the place of origin of the product is an important matter to prove how many unique characteristics are involved in the product.
Because of the importance of the place of origin of the product, the international market takes a preferential treatment for the original product, while taking various restrictions on the product which is not original.
Insam is native to Korea and its home is known as Kaesong.
Our ancestors started cultivating it at the foot of Mt. Songak in Kaesong at the beginning of Tangun Korea.
Mt. Songak, which was formed by the descending mountain range of Mt. Paektu, was connected with Mt. Chonma.
On this stem of Mt. Songak is Sampho Dong where the Ancient Koreans lived and cultivated insam in the Tangun era.
Korean insam was also called "Korean Koryo insam ", which means that the cultivation of ginseng began in the period of Ancient Joson and Koryo means that the cultivation, processing and use of ginseng were completed in this period, making it famous all over the world.
The name Korean Koryo insam is simplified as "Koryo insam".
Also called Kaesong Koryo Insam is because Kaesong was the capital of Koryo and the place where ginseng cultivation began in the period of Ancient Joson.
Kaesong Koryo insam is effective in preventing and treating cancer, which is regarded as an incurable disease in the world, and it is a famous medicine for treating even those affected by radiation.
Therefore, insam in our country has been famous to the whole world for "revival medicine" and "a herb of eternal youth", and it has been widely known as "a cure-all" and "a medicine of rebirth" that could enable the dead to be alive.
Insam is produced in different countries and regions of the world, but Kaesong Koryo insam is the "king" of insam widely known to the world as Korean Koryo insam because of its special abundance of saponine glycosides, an intrinsic component of insam, compared to other insam.
Today, many ginseng products such as "Insam tea", "Insam extract", "Insam wine", "Ginseng tablet" and the others are making a great contribution to the improvement of the people's health, and cosmetics made from ginseng are also in great demand.
Thanks to the wise leadership and meticulous concern of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kaesong, the place of origin of insam, has a well-organized farm, factory and institute for cultivation, processing and research of insam, and a brisk work is being conducted to preserve indigenous characteristics of Kaesong Koryo insam, a speciality of the country, and to increase its production.
The Koryo Songgyungwan, a university of light industry in Kaesong has the faculty of Koryo insam and a colorful food culture is blooming along with Kaesong Koryo insam.
Kaesong Koryo insam, a genuine people's country, will be brilliant as the precious treasure of the nation from generation to generation under the loving care of the Party.
