"It is our intention to ensure that the cooperative farms do farming by their own efforts without any other labour assistance."
On November 2, 1986, Chairman
Early in the morning, he visited the polling station and met the manageress of Wonhwa Cooperative Farm, a candidate for deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly. He got detailed information on that year's farming process from her. He highly appreciated that Wonhwa Cooperative Farm had done the farming with less labour assistance and Sambong Cooperative Farm (then) had done it without any labour assistance.
He said that if cooperative farms got used to getting labour assistance every year, the farmers wouldn't do their work with the attitude of masters. He taught her that Wonhwa Cooperative Farm should raise the level of farm mechanization in order to do farming by its own efforts without getting any labour assistance.
And then he said that it was important to raise the operational rate of tractors to boost grain production and mechanize farming, and he took necessary measures for it.
It was not long before he published his immortal classical work "On Waging a Drive in the Countryside for Farming by Its Own Efforts" on November 25th. He stressed that in rural areas, they started a vigorous movement to do farming without relying on labour assistance under the slogan "The Farm Field is My Field!"
He said that grain production was the main revolutionary task of the farmers, so they should fulfill their duties in farming work. After that, he taught a concrete way to rapidly complete the comprehensive mechanization and chemicalization of agriculture.
