In April, all the schools in the country are filled with happy children smiling in new school uniforms under the warm sun, breathing warmth into the hearts of people and also bringing, with it, hope and optimism.
The respected Comrade
"Our Party believes in the people as in heaven, and before them and above them stand our children.
It is not a cause of suffering to take on all the pain of the younger generation as they grow more stoutly and more energetically, but a source of happiness and honour."
In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, school uniform factories have recently been set up in each province, and in place is the elaborate system of taking measurements of schoolchildren and producing tailored school uniforms before the school-opening day, based on the noble view of the rising generations of the respected Comrade
The major mode of production in garment industry, which used to classify measurements into a few standardized sizes and mass-produce clothes in those sizes, has recently changed, to the surprise of the world, to a new production mode whereby measurements are taken of every child and their uniforms are tailored.
And now there are changing rooms and storerooms in every school across the country, and schoolchildren try on their new school uniforms and have them changed if they don't fit – a sight that you would previously see only in shops or department stores.
It is a common practice in shops and tailor's that customers try on clothes to see if they fit or suit them before they buy them, which is important part of commercial activities to ensure convenience for the customers. However, whichever clothes shop it is, the changing room, if any, is usually a small booth with just a curtain, located in a corner at the end of the counter.
However, the new changing rooms and storerooms, which have appeared at schools all over the country, are bright, spacious places with full-length mirrors on the walls where children try on their tailor-made uniforms, looking in the mirrors and laughing.
From the happy faces of their children trying on their school uniforms with their name tags on them even before the first class at school, the parents feel the warm, fatherly love of the respected General Secretary, who is always concerned about dressing millions of children across the country in such a way that they will all look presentable in the eyes of the world. Feeling the love of the greatest and dearest father, the parents praise him at the top of their voices:
Our Marshal is the best!
Our children are the happiest under his loving care!
