Great Successes in Implementing the Party's Policy of Changing the Structure of Grain Production

Great successes for ensuring the happy life of people are being accomplished in the vigorous struggle for ushering in a new era of comprehensive prosperity of the country under the wise leadership of the great Party Central Committee.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"The task, to which our Party attaches importance in increasing agricultural production at present, is to change the structure of grain production in the country and vigorously push ahead with rice and wheat farming."

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who are devoting his patriotic life to hastening the day when our people enjoy rich and happy life to their heart's content, defined the perfect implementation of a food problem by increasing the agricultural production as the main task of the agricultural development strategy in the fourth plenary meeting of the eighth central committee of WPK. He also set the target in grain, livestock, fruit, vegetable, industrial crop and sericultural production, which should be implemented within the next 10 years by stages.

What our Party is giving priority to in developing agricultural production at present is to change the structure of grain production and energetically push ahead with the rice and wheat farming.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed the decision and will of our Party who is going to accomplish the long-cherished desire of our people within a few years again and clarified solutions for changing the grain production structure of our country so that the dietary habit of our people is based on rice and wheat food.

It is also a difficult and enormous revolutionary struggle to change the structure of grain production which has lasted and has been consolidated for decades. And it can not be expected to be successful with normal and usual determination and resolution.

Amid the fierce zeal of our people who always uphold the Party's intention and plan with the vigorous revolutionary struggle, in all farms across the country were set plans for breeding and introducing seeds with high productivity which were suitable for double cropping and were stable in unfavourable weather and soil conditions by energetically waging the seed revolution and developing smooth systems for supplying seeds to all farms, and were conducted affairs for establishing a scientific agricultural system and method for coping with disastrous abnormal weather, ensuring promptness, scientific accuracy and precision of agricultural weather forecasting and building drying places for preventing decay of crops.

So, in 2022, the first year when the Party's policy of changing the grain production structure was set forth, a lot of farms across the country, such as Yakjon Farm of Sukchon County, Town Farm of Yonan County, Sambong Farm of Phyongwon County, Town Farm of Hongwon County and Kumsong Farm of Onchon County, reaped a bumper harvest.

And in 2023, a lot of farms such as Chimhyang Farm of Jongju, Samjigang Farm of Jaeryong County, Pyongphung Farm of Ryokpho Chicken Plant expanded the area of wheat and barley farming and improved the scientific level of manuring and cultivating crops to demonstrate the vitality of the Party's policy in the reality, thus reaching good fruition.

In the 10th plenary meeting of the 8th central committee of WPK, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the wheat and barley harvest improved compared to the preceding year according to enthusiasm of farmers across the country.

Significant successes in implementing the Party's policy of changing the grain production structure and actively pushing ahead with the rice and wheat farming are inspiring all people who are ushering in a new phase of comprehensive prosperity of the country with confidence and courage.

The rich harvest in socialist fields is valuable fruition of the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who made a firm determination to revolutionize the structure of grain production of the country and lead the struggle step by step for ensuring the rich and civilized dietary conditions for our people as early as possible.
