Chairman
A story about the noble traits of Chairman
The respected Comrade
"He was a great leader, a peerless patriot and the benevolent father of our people, who devoted his all solely to the country's prosperity and the people's happiness with absolute loyalty to the President and warm affection for his country and people."
One day in August Juche 58(1969) an official visited the lodging quarters of Chairman who was giving on-the-spot guidance.
As he hurriedly entered the corridor, he met the caretaker wiping his tears away.
He asked for the reason and couldn't help himself but surprised with the answers.
Caretaker said that Chairman was doing washing, so he tried to get the washing out, but he was told to leave it.
When the official entered the room, Chairman
He welcomed the official and offered him water from the vacuum bottle.
It was the scorched-rice tea with a piece of ice in it. It was the one that the Chairman liked to drink in summer.
When the official who took a cup of it said that it would be advisable to leave the washing to the caretaker, Chairman said with a smile on his face that there were many people interfering in his personal life that day.
The official said once again that all people wanted him not to do anything like washing.
With a broader smile on his face, Chairman asked how to abandon the habits he used to do since his childhood.
At that moment the official was extremely moved.
Chairman
When he lived far away from his father during the grim Fatherland Liberation War, he did washing, chopped wood with axe and made fire in the fireplace when he had finished his studies.
Remembering these things, the official felt choked with emotion and earnestly told him again not to do washing.
Looking at him, Chairman asked him why he should change his habits.
When Chairman listened to the official's honest saying that the person respected by all the people across the country shouldn't do such household chores, Chairman said that he was not a prince and asked when a person felt distressed most.
When the official failed to answer immediately, Chairman said that he felt the most distressing in that kind of situation, when people thought of him as a special being and tried to serve him distinctively and he felt painful and distressing as if he was sitting on thorns.
With his words the official felt very sorry and embarrassed as his advice had hurt his mind.
