The great General regarded it as his lifelong duty to devote all of his to the wellbeing and safety of the great leader Comrade
Whenever the great leader was on his foreign visit, the great General would first tread the path which the great leader was to step, considering it as a moral obligation and duty of a revolutionary. He always paid primary attention to the health and well being of the great leader.
It was in April Juche 54 (1965) when the great General arrived in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, accompanying the great leader on his official state visit there.
That afternoon of the first day of his visit, the great General met the ambassador of DPRK to Indonesia, received his report on the work and gave instructions and guidance to the entire work of the delegation, although he was heavily occupied with assisting great leader in his diplomatic work.
He headed for the embassy, saying that he should inform back home about the Indonesian people's stirring welcome, warmer than the heat of the equatorial climate, as soon as possible.
At the guesthouse the great General met an official and said that he was very pleased to see that the great leader was recuperated and arrived safely in Indonesia. The great General was feeling bright again after a long journey to look at the Indonesian people who gave the great leader enthusiastic cheers. He went the rounds of the rooms the officials of the guesthouse were staying in and even made a round of the lodging quarters of artistes and pilots.
It was past midnight, but the great General still had something to do with. On his table he had a map in which the city of Bandung was circled red. It had a story to unfold.
With regard to the great leader's visit to Bandung, the Indonesian side had inquired of the DPRK side about the choice of transportation either by plane or car.
Upon receiving this report, the great General said that the decision could not be made without due consideration until he himself tread the path to the city in advance so he circled it red on the map in order to personally cover the car road of long distance.
He grasped the road conditions, surrounding terrain and the layout of big and small residential districts into thorough account in the car running along the road and learned in detail about the inconveniences the great leader might receive.
The great General then told that whatever necessary to ensure the safety of the great leader, it must be carried out without fail, and to tread in advance the road which great leader travels is the basic obligation and duty of our revolutionaries, adding that the safety of Great leader is the safety of our people, the safety of our Party and the safety of our country.
At the break of dawn the great General covered the road of long distance himself and made decision that it would be advisable to travel by plane. He could not feel reassured by the car route.

President Sukarno could not contain his admiration for the loyalty of the great General who assisted the great leader in his visit to a foreign country, travelling in person a long way off for his safety.
