Another Expression of Solicitude for the Victorious Wartime Generation

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Our war veterans are laudable heroes of our nation and genuine patriots, in that they dedicated their youth and even their lives to defending the Workers' Party of Korea, the revolution, the country and the people."

Amid the preparations of the 70th anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War with a high level of political enthusiasm and shining feats of labour, inspiring news reached us to the endless joy of the entire Korean people.

The Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK issued a decree in July Juche 112 (2023), conferring the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War Medal on the wartime veterans and workers of distinguished service for their immortal feats in the Fatherland Liberation War.

As many as 9,296 people were awarded with the medal in the congratulatory atmosphere of the country.

Permeated in the medals shining on the war veterans' chests is the solicitude of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). Setting great store by the wartime services of the gallant soldiers who defended their fatherland and brought about the brilliant victory at the cost of their blood, the Party has always held them in high public esteem.

During the fierce war deciding the life and death of the country and nation, the wartime generation of Korea spared nothing, even their youth and life, with the firm conviction that victory was inevitable as long as they had the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung as their leader; later they have followed, without the slightest deviation, the single path of socialist construction and prosperity of the country, the path of loyalty and patriotism with an absolute loyalty to the great WPK throughout each and every stage of the Koran Revolution-such are the merits of the victorious wartime generation of Korea.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un refers to the war veterans as the witnesses of the mightiness and victorious history of heroic Korea, and also a great asset to the country representing the era associated with the august names of the great leaders. He has shown deep love and care for them time and again.

Thanks to the warm love and care of the great leader and the motherly Party, the victorious wartime generation of Korea is hailed not only as saviors of the fatherland who defended the country at the cost of their blood but also as veteran educators of the revolution adding vigor to the advance of revolutionary successors. They are thus held in high public esteem and are leading a happy life.
