The Juche character refers to the characteristics that enable people to solve all the problems facing them in an independent and creative way with an attitude befitting master, or such principled stand and attitude.
The Juche character is the essential nature of socialism.
It means that the Juche character is an important factor in guaranteeing the existence and development of socialism.
First, the Juche character makes it possible to solve all problems arising in the accomplishment of the socialist cause successfully in conformity with the aspiration and demand of the popular masses for independence and by displaying their creative ability.
The socialist cause is an independent cause for fully realizing the independence of the masses.
The struggle for socialism aims to put an end to exploitation of man by man in human society, oppression of class by class and domination of state by state, to eradicate all the relics of the old society that have been brought down historically, and to free people from those fetters. The struggle of the masses for independence, which has been constantly carried out over the centuries, achieves its ultimate goal through the struggle for socialism.
The masses can realize their independence completely only when they are freed from socio-political subjugation, the fetters of nature, old ideology and culture. The socio-political independence of the masses is realized with the establishment of the socialist system, but people are not yet completely freed from the fetters of nature, old ideology and culture.
After the establishment of the socialist system, the masses should firmly adhere to the Juche character if they are to achieve independence completely, free from the constraints of the old ideology and culture.
As he tries to leave what he has to do to others or to live by relying on others, man can't escape from the situation in which he is shackled to others; so if the masses fail to adhere to the Juche character in revolution and construction, it is impossible for them to solve all problems properly in conformity with their own aspiration and demand.
Only when the Juche character is adhered to, can the masses vigorously step up the struggle to eliminate the relics of the old society in all fields of social life and fully realize independence, free from the fetters of nature, old ideology and culture.
The struggle for socialism is not only a struggle for fully realizing the independence of the masses but also a cause motivated by the revolutionary enthusiasm and creative activeness of the masses themselves.
In that struggle, the people's sense of responsibility gets higher and their strength and wisdom are displayed to the maximum.
Also, under the leadership of the revolutionary party, the consciousness of the masses is inspired to the full and the public work system and order for enhancing their role are established in a regular way. Thus, the masses of the people steadily enhance their creative role with a high sense of consciousness and responsibility as masters of the state and society.
In this way, as it enables people to solve all problems arising in accomplishing the socialist cause by giving full play to their creative ability in conformity with their aspiration and demand, the Juche character is the essential nature of socialism.
Second, the Juche character makes it possible to achieve the victory of the revolution, successfully overcoming the trials and difficulties standing in the way of the socialist construction.
The struggle for socialism is carried out through the fierce struggle against the imperialist reactionaries and all other class enemies.
The imperialists and reactionaries are viciously maneuvering to stamp out the socialist cause, not only at the stage of the struggle for national liberation and class emancipation but also after the establishment of the socialist system.
The imperialists are now making desperate efforts for political, ideological, military and the economic aggression and to isolate and stifle socialism every day.
The US and other imperialists are openly carrying out military threats and blackmail and aggressive moves by mobilizing nuclear weapons and other huge forces against the countries and nations advancing along the road of independence and socialism and persistently resorting to the moves to stifle and degrade them economically by imposing sanctions and blockades.
The reactionary ideology and culture of the imperialists are playing the main role in aggressive moves to overthrow the socialist system today. With the reactionary ideological and cultural offensive, the imperialists are viciously acting by any means to degenerate the people's ideology and spread the heterogeneous way of life so as to realize their schemes to overthrow the system without direct involvement of military forces.
Meanwhile, the remnants of the overthrown exploiting class, the renegades and traitors to the revolution are constantly waging sabotages and plots against socialism.
Under this situation, we must firmly adhere to the Juche character in order to frustrate the moves of the imperialists and enemies and to successfully solve all the problems arising in the cause of socialism while overcoming the trials and difficulties encountered.
The socialist cause cannot be accomplished to the end, and even the gains of the revolution already achieved will be lost if they fail to adhere to the Juche character and deviate from the Juche-oriented stand though the moves of the imperialists and enemies are made viciously and there are a lot of ordeals and difficulties in the way of accomplishing the socialist cause.
Only when all the problems arising in the revolution and construction are solved independently and creatively by adhering to the Juche character, can we frustrate the vicious moves by imperialists and other enemies, overwhelm imperialism and capitalism in all spheres of social life, and overcome trials and difficulties, thus successfully advancing the cause of socialism.
The WPK proved that it is the road of victory and glory to defend the Juche character in revolution and construction by building Juche-oriented socialism, a superior society that enables the masses to defend and realize independence. Korean-style socialism is steadily advancing along its orbit without vacillation in any world political upheaval because the WPK is leading the revolution and construction while maintaining the Juche character consistently.
Since the Juche character is the essential nature of socialism, the defense and advance of socialism depend on the adherence to the Juche character.
Only when we hold fast to the Juche character and display the masses' strength and wisdom to the full in the whole course of socialist construction, can we successfully realize their aspiration and demand for independence and achieve the eternal victory and prosperity of socialism by firmly adhering to the principle of independence in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in national defense.
