Love for children on Mt Maan that continues through generations

Socialist Korea is the only country in the world where the state is responsible for clothing of all the children and students.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Providing students with school uniforms is a policy our Party has consistently maintained, and it is a powerful demonstration of the advantages of our style of socialism at home and abroad."

It is a policy consistently maintained by the Workers' Party of Korea to bring down school uniforms to the students and it is a tradition in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to do that as a state burden to the students.

This tradition which is unique to the DPRK in the world is the one provided by President Kim Il Sung and carried forward generation after generation by Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

In the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, President Kim Il Sung matured the plan for establishing a state system of costume for the children on Mt. Maan for free.

Everybody knows Mt. Maan if they're Korean.

The Korean people are recollecting with tears the warm love and warm recognition of the peerlessly great men for the rising generations even if they hear the word Mt. Maan.

In April Juche 25(1936), the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, President Kim Il Sung visited the members of the Children's Corps on Mt. Maan, hearing that they were suffering from maltreatment, hunger and cold by the national chauvinists and leftist opportunists.

At that time he covered the children's corps members who lay ill in the cold room with their own blankets, and he offered them 20 won, money as precious as a thousand pieces of gold given by Mother Kang Pan Sok when he left home after forming the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Army, so that they could wear new clothes to the naked children's corps members.

The shock that he was given by the naked children on Mt Maan was so terrible that he decided that if the country was liberated, it would be necessary to establish a system whereby the state dresses the children free of charge.

Already during the postwar when all the things in the country had to be destroyed and rebuilt, he created a history in which the state supplied the students with clothes.

In April Juche 46(1957), he said that the state should make school uniforms and supply them to all the students across the country every season next year on and personally took measures for their realization.

As a result, a new history was created in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from Juche 47(1958) in which school uniforms were supplied from the state to all the students across the country every season.

On January 30, Juche 53(1964), he saw the winter padded clothes worn by the students of Songsan Middle School in Yonthan County, North Hwanghae Province on their field guidance tour and took practical measures to make the children's padded clothes fit their bodies.

Since then a new system has been established in the DPRK to make and supply school uniforms, shoes and hats to all children and students individually.

On July 6, Juche 83(1994), he inquired how school uniforms were supplied to the students even at the last consultative meeting of senior officials in the economic sector, which the Korean people did not forget.

He expressed belief that the policy of dressing children will continue as long as the socialist system exists in our country and the tradition of Mt. Paektu is inherited.

Chairman Kim Jong Il inherited his noble love for the younger generation without an inch of deflection. In April Juche 66(1977), he presented school uniforms and school supplies to all the children across the country as gifts and ensured that the tradition was carried forward.

On the occasion of the 65th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il made up his mind to make school uniforms, shoes and various school things well for children and students across the country, and gave meticulous teachings one by one in October Juche 65(1976).

He personally designated the shape, color and material of clothes as the best in the world one by one and said in detail that all the kinds and materials of shoes, shirts, neckties, belts, hats and socks should be made the best.

While he was saying that we should give them a school bag with a kit of school things as a present, he wrote down the names of high-quality notebooks, notebooks, notebooks, pencils, protractors, draftsman and other school things one by one in the list of gifts.

He was so anxious to give better things to the children and students and do more than one thing. This was the noble image of President Kim Il Sung who dressed the children's corps members of Mt. Maan in the grim days of the anti-Japanese war with 20 won of precious money from Mother Kang Pan Sok.

On the night of March 28, Juche 66(1977), he saw the gifts displayed in the meeting room of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and said that it was not too late to see the ribbons of the girls, so it would be good to make ribbons by launching campaign.

And he told that they should make fine erasers to erase the letters written by the pencils, ball pens and fountain pens.

As a result, precious gifts reflecting his noble intention were conveyed to all children and students across the country and even to children and students abroad on the occasion of the 65th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

The tradition started on Mt Maan is being carried forward by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

On June 9, Juche 101(2012), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un earnestly told senior officials of the Party Central Committee that supplying school uniforms is an important undertaking to defend the popular policies of our Party and state and preserve the socialist nature of the country, and giving field guidance to the newly rebuilt Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory on January 30, Juche 104(2015) stressed the need to provide quality shoes, school uniforms and school things to the students, no matter how difficult the circumstances of the country may be.

When giving on-the-spot guidance to the cloth production site for our students, he warmly said that the Party is going to take direct responsibility for the work to bring new uniforms to the students, make shoes well and fill their knapsack bags, saying that they should do school uniforms unconditionally, true to the noble intention of the great leaders even though the situation of the country is difficult.

He showed warm benevolence to the students across the country to supply new school uniforms on April 15, Juche 104(2015), though the economic situation of the country is difficult.

At the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held in December Juche 110(2021), he said that it is a policy of our Party and the eternal state policy of the DPRK which should be given the highest priority unconditionally, not an inexhaustible work if the conditions are good and difficult.

He set forth the task of supplying all the students with new kinds of quality school uniforms and bags without fail and took important measures of the Party Central Committee to implement them.

Thus, it has become a tradition in the DPRK to make and supply school uniforms to children and students across the country at the state expense thanks to the noble love of the peerlessly great men for the rising generations and this tradition will be invariably carried forward in the future, too.
