The respected Comrade
"Salt is indispensable to the people's diet; it is also an important raw material badly needed by several sectors of the national economy, including the chemical, food-processing and pharmaceutical industries."
The respected Comrade
On May 23 2016, the respected General Secretary received a report that the Korean People's Army was producing a large quantity of salt with underground ultra-brine and visited a salt works though he was so busy.
He said with great pleasure that the heaps of white salt looked like a mountain of platinum and the production of salt with underground ultra-brine was as good as the extraction of platinum from the ground. He acquainted himself with the performance of a water pump installed at a workteam and said that the small pump was doing a great job. He then suggested naming it Aeguk (patriotism) No. 1 and displaying it at a revolutionary museum after modernizing the salt production process based on underground ultra-brine.
He was always so devoted to the people's life with paternal affection lest they should feel any inconvenience in diet that salt was as precious as platinum to him and that every equipment used for its production was so dear to him.
After tasting the salt produced with underground ultra-brine, he was satisfied to say that it was sweet with no bitter taste. You say the introduction of the salt production method relying on underground ultra-brine can remarkably reduce the area of salt pans and its production cycle and increase the per-hectare salt output several times as compared with the salt production method based on seawater, he said, lavishing praise that this method was an innovative method of drastically increasing the salt production of the country by putting its production on an intensive basis.
That day, he called on the KPA to work out an audacious plan for perfecting the salt production process using underground ultra-brine and to push ahead with it in a big way. He indicated tasks and ways related to salt production in detail, including the issues of putting efforts into arranging salt pans neatly and in a useful manner as required by the new century, remarkably raising the proportion of mechanization of all working processes, including salt production and transport, to free workers from difficult and labour-consuming work, building a good salt packing process and storehouses and directing national efforts to the prospecting of underground ultra-brine. As I have got familiar with the KPA's salt production relying on underground ultra-brine, I feel confident that we will be able to revitalize the country's salt production in the near future, he stated, saying he was very satisfied and pleased that day.
He continued to say that before long, our people and service personnel would benefit from the salt produced with underground ultra-brine as instructed by the Chairman
As seen above, Undok salt reflects the noble intention of the General Secretary to hand down to posterity the immortal exploits of Chairman
