Making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people is the boundless love and devotion to them to devote all their wealth and even their lives without hesitation for the people by attaching the greatest importance to the realizing the demand and interests of the people.
It is the highest level of devotion for the people and a sure guarantee for successful political realization.
The concept "making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of people" has a meaningful story.
One day in January, Juche 103(2014) on the table of the respected General Secretary, there were photos showing the sections of the people's life.
They were simple photos showing happy health-seekers who were pleased to see the lorries full of fish, smiling children who were eating the fish soup and the emotional look on the families of scientists who were carrying the fish they had been supplied.
A smile of joy was reflected in the eyes of the respected General Secretary, seeing the photos showing the people laughing and shouting at the fish provided by the Korean People's Army.
After a while, the respected General Secretary said with a strong emotion that he would live in a struggle in spite of the difficulties to be indulged in heart moving happiness. He then stressed that our struggle should aim at hastening the happy day when all people will lead a happy and prosperous life and that we should strive to do things better by raising our strength and courage with the spirit of making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of people.
This concept "selfless, devoted service to the people" was born to be a new word of the era of the Workers' Party.

This means literally exchanging one's life with the happiness of the people.
