The Immortal Exploits for the Development of Educational Science, Performed by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un

The national power of a country is determined by its talents and the success of training talents depends on the quality of its education.

In the DPRK, it has established the habit of attaching importance to education, regarding education as the most important state affair.

In particular, considering that the shortcut to building the country into an educational power and a talent power lies in the development of educational science, it pays primary attention to its development.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said as follows.

"Educational work should be developed in order to make ours a country of education and talents."

In order to make the education of the country the one that can be entrusted to the future with confidence, the DPRK, under the wise leadership of the Party, is making rapid progress in the research on educational science to improve the structure of education, the content and methods of education and the educational conditions and environment, regarding it as an important part in the development of education.

The immortal exploits of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the development of the educational science of the country is, first of all, that he provided the ideological and theoretical guidelines for the development of the educational science in new century.

On the basis of his clear insight into the world trend of educational development, he developed and enriched the Juche-oriented educational ideas and theories of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il as required by the new century and thus provided the ideological and theoretical guidelines for developing the country's education into one that leads the world.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed the need to rapidly develop the educational science of the country to suit the world trend of educational development and the specific educational reality of the country.

No development can be expected without science in the age of the knowledge-based economy, as in all other fields.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said at the 13th National Conference of Educational Workers that a revolution cannot be expected in education without the development of educational science, and instructed to put the overall education of the country on a new scientific basis by directing efforts to developing educational science.

He continued that the educational sector should introduce good things of the advanced modern educational science and technology of other countries into our educational system. He also instructed that the relevant fields like the research institutes of educational science should actively exchange and cooperate with international organizations and other countries so as to introduce advanced experiences in conformity with the actual conditions of the DPRK and create favorable conditions for its educational development.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un also clearly indicated the tasks and ways for developing the country's educational science into an advanced and original one that leads the world.

Adding that the central research institute of educational science should play the role of the educational policy advisory body together with the research institute of educational science, he said that the state should establish a well-regulated guidance system that controls and guides the research on educational science of the country in a unified way around the educational institute and make it possible for the educational institute to properly discharge its mission and duty as an educational policy advisory body.

And he instructed that universities should be reinforced with educational and scientific experts in accordance with their realities. He also stressed the need to train a large number of educational and scientific experts and reinforce the educational and scientific forces with officials with practical abilities and rich teaching experience.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave instructions that the field of educational and scientific research should actively solve the problems from the Juche-oriented stand arising in opening up new fields of educational science including control of education, putting education on a scientific and modern basis and raising the quality of education to the world standard. He also stressed the need to publish excellent teaching contents and teaching methods created in the educational fields, generalize them throughout the country and introduce advanced modern educational science and technology in our own way.

The other immortal exploit of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the development of the educational science of the country is that he has wisely led the development of educational science so that it can promote the education of the country powerfully.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un wisely led the work to develop the educational science while guiding the major Party meetings and visiting some units.

At the enlarged meeting of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, he said that there are some new and important issues in the field of education to consider for the reorganization of its structure and took various measures related to it.

In January 2018, he visited the reconstructed Pyongyang Teacher Training College. That day he stressed the need to introduce modern educational science and technology, study and perfect the Korean-style educational method and actively apply it.

He also saw to it that a research institute of education should be established within the Ministry of Education so as to guide the educational and scientific research of the country in a unified way while in major universities, colleges of education and colleges of teachers, the educational and scientific research institutes and offices should be set up.

In 2015, he gave instruction to set up faculties of education at major universities which give training courses to new teachers so that the teachers could devote themselves to education with deep knowledge of educational science.

And, in 2016, he saw to it that the then-existing Institute of Education and Institute of Higher Education were merged to form the Academy of Education which serves as an advisory body for educational science and educational policy in the then Education Commission.

He also instructed to organize a nationwide seminar and exhibition to develop the educational science of the country so that a hot wind of educational science was created in the field of education.

In addition, he saw to it that educational and scientific seminars were organized every two years on a regular basis since 2012 to exchange, learn and generalize successes and experiences gained in educational and scientific research.

As a result, six seminars on educational science have been held to make a great contribution to the development of educational science in the country.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un instructed to organize an exhibition of educational and scientific achievements on a regular basis from December 2019 to display experimental equipment and apparatuses in which educational and scientific research achievements were introduced, so that the educational and scientific research achievements could prove effective in actual educational reality.

As a result, a large number of experimental apparatuses and equipment reflecting modern educational science and technology have been displayed at two exhibitions of educational and scientific achievements, making an active contribution to the developing of the country's education to the world advanced level.

And the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un wisely led the work to apply and generalize the successes and experience gained in the research on educational science.

In order to improve the teaching method as required by the developing reality, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un took positive measures to generalize the achievements made in the work to further improve and thoroughly apply the heuristic teaching method in June, 2015.

Under his wise guidance even in the period of first half of 2024, the higher education sector created more than 50 excellent research-type teaching methods and research-type learning methods, including teaching methods that combined the research task with the teaching of elective subjects, and teaching methods that increased the research and development ability of students by activating the project team operations.

Schools in general educational field are also conducting brisk activities to widely introduce excellent teaching methods such as heuristics, inquiry-style and discussion-style methods to develop the ability to think and practice by themselves.

Indeed, thanks to the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the educational science of the DPRK is clearly mapping its course of development as a powerful means for putting the education of the country on a world advanced level in a far-sighted and scientific way.

The world will witness the reality of the DPRK shining before the world as a world-level educational power and talent power on the basis of Juche-oriented and advanced educational science under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
