When we say an excellent piece of music, this means it's literally famous and well-composed, thereby the more you hear it, the better it sounds and the deeper impression it gives.
In other words, it reflects real life and a profound idea and it's also emotionally rich and melodically beautiful, which makes it good to listen to and sing.
It is loved by popular masses, widely known and handed down from generation to generation.
Every country has their own famous songs, but they only represent one era or one generation and cover only certain objects, and thus did not become masterpieces for the entire people to sing from generation to generation.
But the Korean people's favourite song "We are the happiest in the world" is recognized as the popular song which is most loved and widely sung by the entire people regardless of era and generation.
The respected Comrade
"We, in the future, too, should ensure that the sound of the song We Are the Happiest in the World resounds on this land."
It has been more than 60 years since the song "We are the happiest in the world" was created as a gift of boundless loyalty of our people dedicated to the Fourth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea in 1961.
But even today, after half a century, the song still keeps its vital power as an all-people hymn enjoyed by the entire people.
That is why the song became the first one in our country to be awarded the DPRK's highest honour,
"We are the happiest in the world!"
No one would believe it if this song with an extraordinary title was created in the school where the war orphans were living.
The fate of orphans is often regarded as a symbol of misfortune and grief and as the "darkest corner" of society.
The orphans, who had no parents, no home, no family, but only their lives, were envious of so many things, and the most enviable of them was the very warm affection and love of parents.
The song "We are the happiest in the world" was created at the then Haeju School for Bereaved Children where orphans who had lost their parents in the war lived and studied.
There is a story why the lyrics of this song was collectively written
In any country, the first victims of war are orphans, and therefore the disaster of war brings war orphans.
War orphans were produced in all wars experienced by mankind regardless of era and country, but this has been a social problem that can never be solved.
We have never witnessed such an example that the destiny of orphans was discussed as one of the important affairs of the state during the do-or-die struggle to defend the sovereignty of the nation and territory.
However, in January in 1951, when the fierce battle was at its height during the Fatherland Liberation War, the DPRK Cabinet decision on setting up the school for bereaved children of patriotic martyrs and building more orphanages was announced and the Political Committee of the Party Central Committee discussed and decided on measures that the bereaved children of patriotic martyrs and war orphans should be brought up by the state, so orphanage and orphans' primary schools were built everywhere.
President
President
Indeed, for the orphans, President
The president told the orphans that he was their father and the Party's embrace was their home and this was always kept as the voice of the father in their mind.
One day in April in 1953, the students of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School decided to send a congratulatory letter on the occasion of the 41st birth anniversary of President
They started their letter with the words "To the respected leader Marshal
Looking at them for a while, Chairman
The children who experienced the misfortune and pain of losing their parents don't call anyone "father".
Only when they feel the true kinship of their parents and when they can entrust their future and destiny without any worry, they can call him"father" from bottom of their heart.
One of the students recalled the excitement of that time with emotion.
"
"Father Marshal! What a friendly and earnest call it is."
Even in the difficult period of postwar reconstruction,
President
May 22, 1959 is a significant day which remains in the heart of all graduates from the Haeju School for Bereaved Children all their lives.
That day, the president who they wanted to meet even in their dream, came to the school to acquaint himself about the students' study, school life and family conditions in detail and gave precious instructions for training the students to be political officials in conformity with the duty of the school.
The president said that the students should grow up to be the reserves of our revolution, keeping the mission they assumed before the revolution in their mind and took hold of the hands of the students one by one who were unwilling to part with him.
The Haeju School for Bereaved Children was also preparing for the performance for the national art festival of schools for bereaved children and orphans' primary schools held on the occasion of the Fourth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea in 1961.
In the course of creating the song dedicated to our grateful Party, the children's voice "Our father is Marshal
The song "We are the happiest in the world" was presented as a chorus of the students of the Haeju School for Bereaved Children on the stage of the national grand performance of art groups of national schools for bereaved children and orphans' primary schools held in the presence of President
At the peak of the chorus, the president took his handkerchief to his eyes.
At that moment, someone burst into tears first, and the whole choir began to sob with excitement.
The song, which the children sang in chorus with tears, provided everyone with great emotion.
It was a song of ardent love which had never been heard so far and was the purest and most beautiful song of happiness in the world.
The audience gave a thunderous applause looking up to the president in the auditorium for a long time.
Everybody joined their voice and sang together with the students.
"We are the happiest in the world" was a proud declaration of the Korean people to the whole world that the genuine socialist system in which a state formed a large family under the guidance of the great father was born on this land for the first time on the earth.
Indeed, it was the boundless thanks of the people to President
It was from then that all our people began to call President
The embrace of the president was the home of happiness and the eternal home of our people.
Some people held a biased view of regarding the song as children's one as it was created in the school for bereaved children.
But since this masterpiece reverberated in the world for the first time, Korean people have accepted it as the theme of their lives, hymn of prasing leader and the song of praising the Workers' Party of Korea to all the people.
President
The song "We are the happiest in the world", the symbol of the special human relations of socialist Korea, was the song of all the Korean people and its native home was our socialist society.
