The great leader Comrade
"Comrade
In Simmi-dong, Hyongjesan District, Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, there is the Patriotic Martyrs' Cemetery, a grand monumental edifice that hands down from generation to generation the brilliant feats and exploits of the revolutionary martyrs who devoted their lives to the national liberation, socialist construction and reunification of the country.
With deep affection and warm love towards the revolutionary comrades inherited from the great leader Comrade
The Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery was erected on Sept. 17th, Juche 75(1986) thanks to the lofty will of the great leaders who wanted to let the exploits of revolutionary and patriotic martyrs remain in the hearts of the people and let them enjoy eternal lives.
Saying that it is the invariable moral obligation of the Workers' Party of Korea to glorify the lives of the revolutionary martyrs and give prominence to them as a model of eternal life, he indicated the tasks and ways to successfully build the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery, a symbol of morality and obligation of our Party, into harmony even in the distant future.
The remains of the martyrs and cadres of our Party, state and military forces who passed away for the national liberation, socialist construction and reunification of the country, and the remains of the meritorious officials who had worked in various sectors of science, education, literature and art, and mass media were buried in the cemetery.
At the entrance to the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery stands the gate with the calligraphic board engraved "Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery" and in the cemetery area after the gate there is a memorial inscribed "Exploits of the patriotic martyrs who devoted their lives for the national liberation, socialist construction and reunification of the country will remain immortal in the national history. Sept. 17th, 1986".
Tombstones with stone photos were set up for all the martyrs.
Originally, on the tombstones, there were only martyrs' names, dates of their birth and demise and their lifetime duty.
One day, the great leader, who had always thought of it, knew about the stone photos that were made by our scientists.
He said that the stone photos that showed no changes to natural storm reminded him of the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery. He continued, every time he saw the tombstones of the martyrs, he was unsatisfied with the tombstones on which only data had been inscribed. And then he said that he was now glad with the stone photos, as they could be attached to the tombstones.
Officials were deeply impressed by the great leader who thought of the martyrs first even with one technical fruit.
The great leader gave several teachings about the production of stone photos in the months.
After learning in details about the stone photo-making, the great leader said that when the stone photos were engraved in the tombstones at the Patriotic Martyrs' Cemetery, it would be of great significance in adding luster to the political lives of the martyrs and also the bereaved families of the martyrs would be deeply moved.
On the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of the DPRK, the great leader saw to it that every tombstone of patriotic martyrs had stone photos of their lifetime image. He personally paid a visit to the Patriotic Martyrs' Cemetery on Sept. 19th, Juche 87(1998) after receiving a report that the work had been completed.
On that day, he looked at unforgettable comrades' stone photos one by one and said in a hoarse voice that he could meet all the unforgettable people there and that they all seemed to be alive. He continued that he would look at all the stone photos there even it took a lot of time.
He started looking round every grave of martyrs leading to the stairs.
It took a lot of time to look around the cemetery where the remains of hundreds of martyrs were enshrined, but the great leader recollected from the first martyr to the last looking at stone photos one by one.
The eyes of the great leader who looked at the photos of the unforgettable comrades longing to meet even in his dreams, were as wet as the eyes of a mother visiting her child's grave.
The great leader said that he was very happy and glad to see his old lifetime comrades, adding that they were all boundlessly loyal to the great leader Comrade
After a while, when he'd finished his visit, he said that there seemed to be some missing people. He remembered some people and said that they were all faithful to the revolution and that we should have them all here and make stone photos for them. He earnestly said that our Party and people would never forget them who achieved great exploits for the socialist construction.
It was getting dark, but the great general was not going to leave the cemetery, looking at the photos of the comrades again and again.
Noting that the revolutionary martyrs should live eternal lives forever, he said that it is necessary to spruce up this place better and plant more trees to add shine to it.
Wrapped in solemn feeling, officials who accompanied him looked up to the cemetery once again, asking themselves "Who lead eternal lives here?"
They are the people who experienced twists and turns before embarking on the road of revolution and passed away while working with devotion on the road of revolution. Among them were the martyrs who gave the great leader occasions to feel anxiety in their lifetime.
The cemetery will be a sea of emotion that tells all the relations and memories of the great leader with the comrades in his heart.
A lot of people visit the Patriotic Martyrs' Cemetery dedicated to the warm love of the great leader Comrade
They think that the tombstones show the martyrs' dates of demises but actually, they are the dates when they climbed the hill of immortality.
Right. Though they passed away, they are the people who enjoy eternal lives as long as they remain alive in the memory and recollection of our great leader Comrade
Today, the Patriotic Martyrs' Cemetery is shining bright as a monument to the noble love and obligation of the great leaders and the respected Comrade
