In other words, the priceless victory we have achieved is the victory of our Party's anti-epidemic policy, the victory of our state's crisis management strategy, and the victory of our people's unique fortitude and single-hearted unity, it is a great victory achieved thanks to the superiority of our unique socialist system."
It is by no means easy to prevent the inroads of malignant viruses that seriously threaten the survival of mankind across the borders.
The fact that no country in the world has completely eradicated the virus that made inroads into its territory for four years since the crisis started clearly proves how harsh the war against the malignant virus is.
The DPRK set a record in the world anti-epidemic history by preventing the inroads of malignant virus for two years and three months and restoring stability in the anti-epidemic work in a short period of 80 days amid the worldwide public health upheavals. It is an unprecedented miracle in the world's healthcare history performed by the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people under the outstanding leadership of the respected Comrade
He set forth the most timely and scientific anti-epidemic policy and mobilized the entire Party, the whole country and all the people to implement it.
In the early days of the global health crisis, clearly seeing through the danger that the malignant epidemic would pose to the mankind and social development, he took preemptive and decisive special measures including the border blockade to defend the health and life of the Korean people, and set forth unique anti-epidemic strategies and tactics at major Party meetings. Under the emergency situations when a breakthrough could be made to the anti-epidemic barrier, he ensured that the anti-epidemic disciplines were more thoroughly established with the highest tension and vigilance maintained.
In particular, he convened the 8th meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in May Juche 111 (2022), when the malignant virus made inroads into our country, to clarify the timely and detailed anti-epidemic guidelines of switching the national prevention work to a top-level emergency anti-epidemic system and immediately eliminating the source of the spread in the shortest possible time by putting the situation of the spread under stabilized control and management, quickly curing the infections and pushing forward in parallel the efforts for blockade and stamping out.
He stressed that the anti-epidemic war should be thoroughly turned into the anti-epidemic campaign for the people and that all officials should make selfless and devoted efforts for the safety and good health of the people. He personally visited the State Emergency Anti-epidemic Headquarters to indicate the specific directions and ways to make the DPRK a country achieving a full stability in the anti-epidemic situation in a short period of time.
He also acquainted himself with the emergency anti-epidemic work every day and saw to it that the officials should eliminate the tendency to be flustered by the health crisis they had never faced before, holding the key to their work.

One of the most pressing problems during the rapid spread of the epidemic was the supply of medicines to people suffering from the epidemic without any delay.
In accordance with the decision of the 8th meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, measures were taken to urgently release and supply the reserve medicines of the state, but the supply work was not proceeding satisfactorily.
The pharmacies in the capital city, which should be the backbone and the last bastion in the state crisis management, were not supplied with medicines on demand, hindering the treatment of citizens.

He personally initiated the work of establishing and disseminating scientific treatment methods for the malignant epidemic.
In fact, in the early days of the top-level emergency anti-epidemic campaign, the incidence of malignant epidemics rapidly spread across the country and the number of fever cases per day soared to hundreds of thousands, so it was impossible to reduce the fatality rate without giving precedence to the establishment and dissemination of the scientific treatment methods, helping people to treat themselves.
He suggested that the public health sector should find and standardize on a national scale the appropriate and optimum methods of drug administration to cure the virus infection by the stealth omicron variant, establishing correct treatment strategy and issue them as a guideline for treatment. He said that the relevant sectors including the preventive and curative organs should disseminate to the people the common knowledge and information necessary for the prevention and treatment of the epidemic and should produce and broadcast various programs to help the understanding of the public by mass media.
Thanks to his energetic and scrupulous guidance, the supply system of medicines was established in the capital and local areas and the work of establishing, applying and disseminating the treatment plan suitable for the physical constitution, characteristics and actual conditions of Korean people was accelerated, thus providing a sure guarantee for saving the lives of the people from the danger of malignant epidemic.

At the meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK held on May 14, Juche 111 (2022), he said that it is time for the WPK Central Committee to verify its leading role once again in the trials of history, it is time to become more conscious of what we are needed for and whom we should devote our lives to, and our Party would bravely stand before its important duties and be entirely responsible for the security of the country and the safety of the people with infinite loyalty and devotion, stating his firm resolution and will to win a victory in the anti-epidemic war.
Visiting the State Emergency Anti-epidemic Headquarters on the day when the top-level emergency anti-epidemic system was in operation, he gave valuable guidelines and clear strategies of the anti-epidemic work as well as firm confidence and courage to officials who were embarrassed about what to do facing the first-ever state crisis.
He took measures to immediately rectify the deviations in the supply of medicines and visited the Mannyon Pharmacy and the Jangsaeng Pharmacy in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang to acquaint himself with the supply of medicines in the capital city.
The pharmacies were very dangerous as many family members of the infected were coming every day and the pharmacy assistants had just recovered from the epidemic. However, he went into the pharmacies without hesitation to learn in detail about their status quo and gave valuable instructions on the supply and sale of medicines.

Saying that he would donate the medicines prepared by his family to the party committee of the WPK Central Committee, he suggested that the medicines should be sent to the families in the most serious situation, with a sincere wish to see peace and laughter back to all families as soon as possible. And one month later, on June 15, when the acute intestinal plague broke out in Haeju City, he sent medicines prepared by his family again to the party committee of Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province.

Following his noble virtue, officials of the Central Committee of the WPK sent hundreds of kinds of medicines prepared by their families to South Hwanghae Province, and numerous medical workers across the country directed all their efforts to the medical care, working day and night, and many officials and working people donated medicines, anti-epidemic material and food to anti-epidemic organs, preventive and curative medical organs, war-veterans and disabled soldiers' families and other families in hardships.
Thanks to his warm love, self-sacrificing devotion and energetic leadership, the DPRK restored stability in the anti-epidemic work in 80 days.
