Chairman
"The great leader Comrade
The immortal footprints of President
The President said that the time given to him was the time for people, and worked every bit of it.
He made painstaking efforts for people even at mealtimes and midnight, on holidays and his birthday.
It was one day at the end of July, Juche 47(1958).
The President told an official to set up a detailed schedule before the field guidance to Jagang Province.
The official immediately went to the spot and began to plan a schedule with the cadres in the province.
He travelled along the route taken by the President and took detailed accounts for the days needed for the field guidance, measuring the distance and time. They were summed up to total of twenty-five days.
He tried to make it as short as possible, but the time of 25 days made him hesitate for a while.
It was because one-month field guidance to one province was thought to be too long for the President, who was taking care of the whole work of the Party and the State.
So he decided to reschedule to reduce the days.
First, the time spent on the road was reduced by a small amount and the number of places to visit for a day increased by one or two. Next, the places in the same sector were excluded to further reduce the period.
As a result, a 20-day schedule, five days less than the original one, was made. He reviewed it several times to find that it could no longer be shortened, and presented it to the President.
However, he learned in details about the places and streets date by date and said that the schedule was too loose. He put back some of the places that the official had omitted, and reduced the schedule to 7 days.
At that time, he arranged to visit tens of places in six cities and counties, many of which were rough and steep mountainous areas. The total distance was over thousands of miles, which meant that it would take a few weeks to travel the distance by car.
But the President said that he would visit all of them only in seven days.
The official suggested that the President should prolong his schedule even for a few days.
Then the President said that the time given for them is a precious time for working for the people, so they should work every bit of it.
He devoted his all not only for that seven days of field guidance to Jagang Province but also for the whole life to the happiness of people.
The President said that even a star should be picked up if people wished and planned and turned into reality all the work for the people without any stop.
Indeed, the whole life of the President was a restless life in which he devoted himself day and night to providing them with a rich and happy life.
