An episode of 'special holiday scheme'

The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il said:

"Officials are not special beings standing over the masses but their servants who have come from among the masses and serve them. As the servants of the people, officials should always think more of the interests of the people than of their own interests."

In the whole period of his revolutionary career, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il brilliantly embodied the noble idea "The people are my God", a motto of President and thus always valued the interests of the people above all else and led the revolution and construction.

The story about the "special holiday scheme", a program for workers who work from their homes for a long time is associated with the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il's discreet care of the construction workers living conditions.

One day an official, dispatched to a major construction site as an inspector, received a phone call from the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.

He asked in detail after young construction workers who had long been away from their homes working there, and said that it was necessary to send them home to meet their families on an alternate basis and take measures to give them a holiday frequently.

On hearing from the official that there is no such a state regulation as holiday scheme that allows them a few days off at a time, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il said that the rule is for the people, so a new law should be discussed with the officials concerned so as to provide convenience for the life of young builders.

It was a meaningful instruction that reminded the officials of everything should be geared for the people as they are true servants of the people.

As a result, a "special holiday scheme" was introduced in our country which allowed the itinerant working people to take several days off every quarter on a regular basis.

The story about the warm care shown by the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il who always paid deep attention to the people's living conditions was brought also into full bloom in the summer of Juche 65(1976).

One day soon after an official who was assigned the task of boosting the production of iron ore concentrate in Musan mine, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il telephoned him.

The leader asked him if they had finished building houses for workers there including discharged soldiers. After hearing that they haven't paid attention to the house problem because concentrate production was urgent, he said in a resolute voice we should build the workers' houses at any rate.

He continued to say that it was a matter of the revolutionary viewpoint on popular masses and the spirit of serving the people, not in the building materials and labor, and that the concentrate ore would be poured by miners, and that they should think first of the miners' living conditions before the concentrate production. He said the dwelling houses should be built neatly at the foot of the mountain before winter comes and furnished with a complete set of furniture.

As seen above, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il brought up officials to be true servants of the people through instating the "special holiday scheme" of a new kind and thus the new fine houses for the workers were built in a few months, which was truly a miracle.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is on a ceaseless journey of devoted service for the people, with his heart burning with a noble sense of duty for the entire Korean people as well as a noble view of life regarding them as heaven.

Thanks to his energetic guidance to make sure that the history of patriotic devotion of the great leaders throughout their lives continues on this land, our country will be developed into a socialist paradise where all people are blessed.
