Green Mountains, Green Fields

The noble desire and ideal of Chairman Kim Jong Il who had always cherished his beloved country and people in his mind and devoted his whole life to building a thriving nation are also warmly associated with the dear call of the green mountains and green fields.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"The General was a peerless patriot; he loved his country and fellow people more ardently than anybody else did, and he devoted his whole life to achieving the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people. Thus he performed imperishable exploits that are etched in the history of the country."

One day in July, 10 years ago, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a factory, despite the sweltering weather. He stood on an observation platform and watched the factory surrounded by green woods, which was as beautiful as a picture. Looking at various kinds of trees such as pine-nut trees and larch trees growing in the woods, he said in a quiet voice with great happiness, "Green mountains, green fields!...".

The words of the Chairman represented the noble love for the country of the peerlessly great man to build a powerful socialist country with thick woods and fruits of happiness in the mountains and fields of the country.

Ardent patriotism is expressed by the detailed thoughts and feelings of loving and caring a grass or a tree of the homeland.

The Chairman's lifetime, which was devotional with the endless love of the homeland and the people, was patriotic he was cherishing the green forest.

He used the expression of "green mountains, green fields" on numerous occasions as he was so pleased to see the outlook of the country ever-greening year after year and to picture the fruitful future of a powerful socialist country where all the mountains and fields of this land would be covered with forests thanks to the patriotic zeal of the people across the country.

The scenery of a powerful socialist country he pictured was a paradise with every mountain being a golden and treasure one and with every field full of all kinds of cereals and fruits which we had cultivated with our own hands and every workplace surrounded by trees.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un said that he could not forget the image of the Chairman who earnestly requested to plant many trees of good species in the mountains and hand down to posterity the beautiful mountains full of green woods. He ardently went on to say that whenever the Chairman saw thick woods and vast fields rezoned decently, he would say softly "Green mountains, green fields" with affection picturing the future of a thriving country and of our people who would lead a happy life generation after generation.
