He became the owner of the war martyrs cemetery

Over the decades since the great victory in the war, the rivers and mountains have changed and the generations have been replaced, but the noble soul of the heroic soldiers who devoted their lives for the victory and the immortal feats they performed are shining more brilliantly in the history of the country.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who is glorifying the life of the heroic soldiers with boundless noble revolutionary obligation, proposed building the cemeteries of war martyrs on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and energetically led the effort to build them.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"We should build the splendid cemeteries of the fallen soldiers of the Korean People's Army as monumental structures representing the Songun era to add eternal brilliance to the heroic fighting spirit and feats of the Fatherland Liberation War martyrs."

One day in July Juche 101(2012) the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about the actual situation of the cemeteries of war martyrs in Pyongyang, and gave the instruction to choose a good site in the mountainous area on the outskirts of Pyongyang and build up the cemetery of war martyrs who laid down their lives in the Fatherland Liberation War, and to build up the cemeteries of the defenders of the country who participated in the past Fatherland Liberation War in the provinces.

Early in December that year, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said again that the cemeteries of war martyrs should be laid out well on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

That day he said that the great victory won in the Fatherland Liberation War was associated with the heroic feats performed by the well-known and unsung martyrs who turned out in the struggle for defending the country, upholding the order of the great Leader. He said with deep emotion that every grave has its owner from olden times, and there should be an owner of the cemeteries of the fallen soldiers of the People's Army who laid down their lives in the Fatherland Liberation War. He continued that our Party should become the owner of the cemetery of the well-known and unsung martyrs of the People's Army who died in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave specific instructions on the issues such as selecting the location of the cemetery, defining its name well and building it. Saying that the gatepost should be built well so that the visitors to the cemetery have noble feelings, and a monument should be erected in the central part of the cemetery and also sculptures symbolic of the martyrs of the People's Army should be made well, he gave detailed instructions on the design plan.

On July 1, Juche 102(2013) when it was approaching the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the cemetery which was at its completion stage. In a sunny place at the foot of Mt. Sokbak, there was a cemetery site with a form of a semicircle and also a monument to defending the country and a gatepost standing in front of it to give its clear appearance. He looked around them and walked to the panoramic view on the right side of the parking lot. The respected General Secretary was briefed on the progress of the project before the panoramic view and, looking at gatepost, he said it was good to describe it as flying flags of the Party and the Republic as it symbolizes that the martyrs of the People's Army are always alive in the bosom of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK.

Then, he said that the cemetery should be built well, adding that it is important for us to educate all the officials, Party members and other working people in the spirit of defending the country in the 1950s and, in particular, the people and youth and students to live and fight with the spirit of defending the country and the heroic self-sacrificing spirit of the martyrs of the People's Army.

The Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery was successfully built thanks to the noble moral obligation and energetic leadership of the respected General Secretary who set forth the soldiers who devoted their lives to the motherland as the revolutionary forerunners and worked hard to hand down their feats and the spirit of defending the country as valuable treasures to posterity.

There are many monuments and cemeteries built in the world for those who fought and sacrificed their lives in the battlefield defending their country. But we have never known such fact that the leader of the country proposed building the cemetery of martyrs as its master in person, guided the whole course of construction, and gave detailed instructions on completing all the details of the cemetery.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un saw to it that the newly-built cemetery of the martyrs was called the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery and on July 25, Juche 102(2013) the inaugural ceremony was held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and he personally took part in it. That day he personally cut a ribbon for the completion of the cemetery and paid homage to the martyrs of the People's Army in memory of them and looked round the cemetery of the martyrs and saw to it that the feats of the victors of the great years were glorified forever in the history of the country.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War, the cemeteries for the martyrs of the People's Army were successfully built across the country, so that the fallen martyrs who devoted their lives to defending the country enjoyed the immortality.

As the stars are shining with the sun, the spirit of the heroic soldiers who devoted their lives to the country will shine forever in the history of the country thanks to the noble moral obligation of the respected General Secretary.
