Today is the era of knowledge-based economy, in which science and technology plays a decisive role in the development of society and in which the overall national power and the socio-economic development depend on talents.
In order to build up a powerful state, we should, by all means, give priority to education which plays the main role in preparing the scientific and technological force of our own.
That is why the Workers' Party of Korea has set talent training and the development of science and technology as the core task and the best policy of the state and is pushing them forward purposefully, and is demanding further investment on them.
It is the firm resolution of the WPK to make a revolutionary turn in science and education, and thus to build a socialist state where people lead an affluent and cultured life as early as possible on the strength of our own scientific and technological force and by relying on the entire people who are equipped with advanced science and technology.
First, the education is the precondition for implementing the cause of building a socialist power at an earliest date by achieving an overall development of socialist construction by dint of self-reliance.
The 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee held in December, Juche 110(2021) set forth the task of vigorously accelerating the overall development of socialist construction for the prosperity and development of the state and the happiness of the people.
Today the Korean revolution has entered a historic stage, in which a striking change is being made in the development of the state and people's livelihood and a fresh victory of socialist construction is being hastened.
In order to provide people with a happy life by making an overall and drastic development in all the sectors and units of socialist construction, we should rapidly develop education.
Only when the standard of science and technology and education is high, can we attain self-sufficiency in energy, raw materials and food keenly required for today's economic development and the improvement of people's livelihood, and can we develop national economy on a stable and sustainable basis by completing the structure of the independent national economy. Their high standard also ensures the sound material and cultural condition and environment where the entire people can enjoy their cultured life at the highest level of civilization by building an independent and modern socialist economy, the knowledge-based economy.
In the present era of science and technology, when the scientific and technological force and the level of education of the country falls behind, then the overall national power will weaken and lag behind and we will become economically and technologically dependent on other countries. And in the long run, it will be difficult to maintain independence, the life and soul of the country and nation.
The talent and science and technology are the main strategic resource and weapon for a great leap in socialist construction.
Thus, the education is the precondition for further accelerating the Korean revolution which has continued its way year after year and through the centuries and also for taking the lead in the world in all spheres of social life by achieving a rapid development of science and technology and by further strengthening the power of self-reliance.
Second, the education is the crucial requirement for guaranteeing the everlasting prosperity of the socialist state.
Today we are waging a struggle to build a socialist powerful country under the wise leadership of the WPK. This is the patriotic far-reaching plan to hand over the prosperous country to the coming generations and to let them enjoy a dignified and the happiest life.
In the era of science and technology, the knowledge-based economy, the high standard of scientific and technological force and the education is a sure guarantee for developing the country on a stable and long-term basis.
The knowledge resource never shrinks unlike the natural resources which are continuously used up as the time goes by. On the contrary, it becomes the asset which produces richer intellectual and material resources and further propels the development of society by strengthening the productive force of the knowledge-based economy. This shows that only when we continuously develop education, we can realize the everlasting prosperity of the country by enriching the knowledge resource and scientific and technological potential.
Education is the crucial undertaking to bring up the reliable successors to the Korean revolution, the scientific and technological talents, who will shoulder the future of the thriving country.
How the coming generations are trained and educated decides either the strength or the weakness in the political, military and economic power of a socialist state. That's why the WPK gives top priority to the undertaking of training the coming generations as the able revolutionary talents who will shoulder the future of the country and revolution.
Thanks to the wise leadership of the WPK, which gives top priority to and vigorously accelerates the education, the Korean people will surely build a prosperous and powerful socialist country on their own.
