The important thing for a revolutionary party to play its leading role to the full is to invariably sustain its original ideal and character under any circumstances.
The Workers' Party of Korea has never been separated from the people and has firmly sustained its ideal and original revolutionary character of making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people since it engraved hammer, sickle, and writing brush on its flag.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said;
"It will, in the future, too, endeavor to fulfil its heavy yet sacred mission as a motherly party that, full of infinite vitality and untiring zeal, invariably works with affection for the people and devotes its all to their interests. It will also remain boundlessly faithful to its basic duty of taking full responsibility for their destiny, whatever the storms."
Today, in DPR Korea carries on the tradition of loving the people and devoting to them, which was started by the President Kim Il Sung and persisted in by General Kim Jong Il who both lived all life with the word ‘people' in their hearts, and the popular character of the Party and the state is getting predominant under the people-first policy of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
First of all, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un thoroughly applies the people-first principle to the formulation of Party lines and policies.
What political ideal the leader pursues is the most important issue in making a far-reaching plan which defines the character and the mode of existence of the Party and determines leadership of the Party and the destiny of the people.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un formulated the revolutionary idea of the great leader and the great General as Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and fixed it as the eternal guiding idea of the Workers' Party of Korea at the beginning of his leadership. And in the following works he clarified that
Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the guiding idea of the Workers' Party of Korea, is, in essence, the people-first principle.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave a new formulation that Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the people-first principle in its essence, thus defining the popular character of the WPK's guiding idea perfectly in the 4th conference of Cell Secretaries of the WPK in January, Juche102(2013)
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the person who makes devoted efforts for the people is truly a genuine Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist and it is our Party's firm determination to uphold the people just like upholding the great leader and great General and devote its all for the good of the people.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave his speech "Making devoted, selfless efforts for the good of the people is the mode of existence of the WPK and is the source of invincible might of it" in the parade and mass demonstration celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Party on October 10, Juche104(2015). In his speech, he confirmed that serving the people is just the mode of existence of the WPK, again emphasizing the people-first principle is the core idea of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un always goes among the people and familiarizes himself with the aspirations and difficulties of them in detail, and sees to it that the ways of realizing their aspirations and settling their problems are written in Party policies and lines.
In this way, all the lines and policies of the WPK are designed to reflect the desire and demands of the people and to include urgent and substantial measures for the good of the people.
Important Party meetings organized by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in 2020 all dealt with safety and livelihood of the people.
Today, Korean people are devoting their all to upholding and carrying out Party polices, fully aware of the fact that the policies of the WPK are the life and soul of themselves.
Secondly, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is establishing devoted, selfless efforts to the full for the good of the people as the revolutionary practice of the Party.
Making devoted, selfless efforts for the good of the people can bring about substantial change in destiny and livelihood of the people only when it becomes the practice of the Party, not just a slogan or program.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un put forward the slogan "Let the entire Party make devoted, selfless efforts for the good of the great people!" and is now leading a new switchover in the work of the Party.
Infringement on the demands and interests of the people is the greatest foe for the Party which struggles for the good of the people.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gets extremely enraged at the infringement on dignity, rights and interests of the people.
It is the political creed of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to mercilessly punish whoever reigns and encroaches on the interests of people regardless of who and what he or she is.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un strongly demands all the organizations and officials of the Party to give priority to the good of the people whatever they design, arrange and practice, so that the people can actually benefit.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un loves and values most an official of great passion for work, the person who always worries about people's livelihood, willing to be totally responsible to the Party for the work of their sector and the livelihood of people, always pushing his way through the thorny path.
In the Sixteenth Politburo Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the WPK in August, Juche109(2020), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the sufferings and situation of the flood victims would be indescribable and earnestly said that under these circumstances no other than the Party should be fully responsible for and go closer to the people to share hardships and to relieve them from their sufferings.
His idea led to an emotional episode in which the officials of the central committee of the Party rushed to the flooded area to help their rehabilitation work, sharing sufferings with them, and the flood victims were invited to live temporarily in the building of county committee of the Party while the officials of the Party county committee worked day and night for the victims, living in the tents in the yard.
These were unprecedented in the history of parties in the world.
Thirdly, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is leading the entire Party in the struggle for making devoted, selfless efforts for the good of the people with his self-sacrificing devotion and good example.
Making devoted, selfless efforts for the good of the people means sacrificing yourself, as the expression goes.
Love for and devotion to the people is his natural endowment.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is always taking the lead in braving manifold trials and hardships with his passionate love for the people.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has always been in the front of do-or-die battle for the future of the people, unhesitatingly visiting the dangerous test-firing sites and even military posts situated on the islet very close to the enemy posts.
All the happiness our people are enjoying is the fruition of his painstaking efforts.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has taken all important measures unprecedented in the history of all the Parties of the world in order to protect life and health of our people in the emergency anti-epidemic work.
He personally drove his car to the flooded Taechong-ri, Unpha county, North Hwanghae province to grasp the actual situation himself, leaving legendary traces of devotion. And he also drove along the rough and dangerous road which was under constant threat of landslides and was in the train on the unstable typhoon-hit railways even when a new typhoon-10 was about to strike, saying that evacuated people were now waiting for him in the pouring rain looking up at the sky of Pyongyang.
Today, throughout the DPRK is getting higher the shout of victory full of confidence, not a sigh and voices of despair, as the days go by even though Typhoon and floods are to strike one after another, and the whole country brims over with love, harmony, and a number of stories of love that make all the people shed tears of emotion thanks to the love and devotion of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un that goes beyond the one of all the parents.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said in his speech in the parade celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea that he would safeguard even at the cost of his life the great trust of the people who always believe in him, absolutely respect and uphold him, and would be loyal to it to the end of his life, even though his bones were to be crushed and his body was to be torn to pieces.
These words of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made the hearts of the officials burn with the deep sense of duty to make devoted, selfless efforts for the good of the people.
Thanks to the warm love for and devotion to the people of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who values the people most and devotes his all to them, no disaster would block the advance of the WPK which carries on its tradition of making devoted, selfless efforts for the good of the people, and the praise of the WPK, the voice coming from the bottom of the people's hearts, will be higher generation after generation.
