A beautiful flower, along with the stalk and leaves of a plant, owes its life and beauty to the roots. Just as it is impossible to count all those threads of roots which nourish the thousands of flowers in the garden, so it is impossible to fathom the magnitude and warmth of the benevolence of the respected General Secretary who trains our women into a contingent who are vigorously turning one of the wheels of revolution and gives priority to them.
The Korean women were subject to all sorts of humiliation and contempt, tears and hard toil due to social inequality for a long time and forced a miserable life under the Japanese colonial rule. However, they now proudly take their position as the flower of families, the country and the revolution and have grown to true patriots contributing to the socialist country with warm love and devotion.

The whole country was deeply moved. The world envied our women who enjoyed for generations proud and glorious lives thanks to the great leaders.
That year the officials had planned to arrange the events to mark the International Women's Day on a small scale taking the overall mourning atmosphere into consideration, as the 100th-day memorial service after the demise of the General was approaching.

The women invited were honoured to enjoy the performance in the presence of their benevolent father. They shed tears of emotion and gave cheers of joy, reflecting the worthwhile lives they had been leading as ardent patriots and woman revolutionaries, their hearts burning with true love for the future of the country and revolution, not merely as mothers of their own families. Indeed it was an immensely impressive day when the entire world admired the dignity and happiness of our women and envied them.
Female employees of the Kangsong Health Complex and the Amusement Park of Kaeson Youth Park, wives of the service personnel of the Defence Units on Cho Island, Jangjae Island and the Heroes' Defence Unit on Mu Island, the women from Changsong County and many other women laughed happy laughs and were moved to tears in the bosom of the respected General Secretary.
The profound affection of the respected General Secretary who wants to give prominence to our women was not restricted to this.
The respected General Secretary visited the Breast Tumor Institute of Pyongyang Maternity Hospital under construction in late June, 2012. He said earnestly that constructing a building and giving it a special name was not enough to solve the problems and what was more important was to assign competent doctors and researchers possessed of rich experiences in curing mastopathy and breast cancer prevalent among women and set up high-tech equipment. Saying that he was the master for the building of the institute, he promised to provide them with necessary equipment with all his might.
The respected General Secretary paid another visit to the institute a couple of months later. He said with fatherly affection that the institute should reach the world-class levels in all aspects as it had been specially intended for our women, that nothing should be spared for our women and that he was desirous of providing them with everything so that they would want for nothing.
The Breast Tumor Institute of Pyongyang Maternity Hospital is a palace of love with no counterpart anywhere else in the world which was created for our women thanks to the fatherly benevolence.
The respected General Secretary called a woman who had been serving in the army for a long time on March 8 and enquired of her health. He visited her workplace and, hearing that she would be celebrating her birthday before long, he drove back and had a souvenir photo taken with her.
When he visited the Pyongyang Floriculture Institute, he said that now that the Mother's Day had been instituted, it would be a good idea to buy some flowers at the florist's on the day and present them to mothers, adding that it would not only make them delighted but also help establishing a social atmosphere of respecting women. They are the most dignified and proud women in the world who are adding to the glorious era vigors of loyalty and patriotism fostered by the fervent affection and devotion.
Noble virtues and traits are being displayed by our women: some of them raise their children creditably so that they work for the country, some others voluntarily take care of the honored disabled soldiers, old people with no relatives and orphans, and still others devote their all to assisting the army and dedicate themselves to the country and people, to the society and the collective. Such virtues and traits are unthinkable apart from the benevolent fatherly love and care of the respected General Secretary who has prioritized our women as a powerful force turning one of the wheels of revolution and helped them give a full play to their dignity and might.
The future of our women who are in the embrace of the everlasting, benevolent sun will be infinitely bright.
