Great Love for the Victorious Wartime Generation

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"The great heroic spirit of the victorious wartime generation will shine forever and be carried forward powerfully."

In the history, there are a few countries with the victorious generation who fought for the country along with the war of defending the country and many war veterans still live there. But, not all of their feats do not shine like a golden star generation after generation.

Now there are many tragic events in some countries where the feats of the heroic soldiers, who fought for the country and the people during the Second World War, have been insulted and the monuments, which had been built to glorify their merits, have been destroyed. What makes us more heartbreaking is that war veterans end up their life being ridiculed and despised while their exploits are severely undermined, far from respecting their dignity of the participants of the war and defenders of the country.

In our country, however, thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who bestows great love and benevolence on the defenders of the country and the builders of the country in the 1950s, regarding them as the grateful benefactors and true teachers who should be praised and followed forever from generation to generation, the victorious wartime generation's exploits are shining more brightly like a golden star and they lead an eternal life even after they pass away.

The Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery erected in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War is a historic monument which shows the eternal love, trust and noble fidelity of the respected General Secretary to the heroic martyrs who defended the country's territory at the cost of their lives and preserved the gains of the revolution under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung during the grim war.

The General Secretary, who personally initiated the construction of the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery to glorify the exploits of the victorious wartime generation and personally chose the site of the cemetery, said that from olden times there had been an owner for every tomb, so the owner of the cemetery of known and unknown soldiers of the People's Army who died in the Fatherland Liberation War is the Workers' Party of Korea, and took detailed care of the whole process of construction, personally drawing the designs of almost every symbols, every tombstones and every yards of the lawn of the cemetery including the gatepost, memorial tower of the fallen soldiers of the People's Army, a wreath-laying stand and group sculptures, and giving instructions of enlarging the green area.

In the world there are many monuments and tombs built for those who died in a war to defend their country, but no era or no country has had such a great leader who personally proposed to build the graves of martyrs and guided the whole process of construction.

In July 2013, the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery was built in Pyongyang, the capital of the revolution, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War thanks to the noble fidelity and firm faith of the respected General Secretary who wants to the defenders of the country in the 1950s who performed heroic feats in the war against the U.S. imperialist aggressors in front of all and to provide them with eternal life.

Overseas Koreans and foreigners who visited the cemetery warmly expressed their excitement, saying that there is no other country in the world where all tombstones of martyrs are erected with sincerity, and glorify the lives of martyrs with significant symbols, that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who personally initiated the construction of the cemetery, chose its site and successfully led the construction is indeed a great man, and that such a model of fidelity he had created is a unprecedented one.

The love and benevolence of the respected General Secretary for the victorious wartime generation were shown not only in the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery but also in the popular songs of the times such as "July 27 March", "Festival of the Great War Victory", "Tell, Fireworks of War Victory", "Honour to Victors of the Great Years" which were awarded the Order of the 60th anniversary of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War.

Thanks to the respected General Secretary, the war veterans of the DPRK enjoy the respect of all the people as the grateful benefactor and precious revolutionary forerunners who defended the country at the cost of their blood and their precious revolutionary spirit is shining forever as the soul and motto of their successors.
