President Kim Il Sung's exploits in construction of a thriving nation shining with independence

Today, our socialist Korea is demonstrating its might as the most dignified power of independence in the world.

The DPRK, who once was a miserable, colonial and weak nation only a century before, is now shining as the invincible power moving the world with a great idea and safeguarding justice, peace and socialism firmly with mighty strength.

This is totally unthinkable apart from the immortal patriotic exploits of President Kim Il Sung, who led Korean revolution along the ever-victorious path under the unfurled banner of independence all his life.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said.

"Kim Il Sung was a pre-eminent and seasoned leader of the revolution, who wrote a new chapter in modern history and added brilliance to it by leading our revolution along an ever-victorious road under the banner of independence."

In the history of mankind, there are numerous great men who left remarkable traces in the struggle for liberty of their countries and national independence. But, it is impossible to find such an outstanding great man as President Kim Il Sung, who achieved immortal exploits for the time, history, fatherland and people by leading the most arduous Korean revolution independently and creatively without giving an inch before any stresses and storms or any formidable enemy.

Independence was the President's revolutionary creed, mode and practice of revolution he cherished and embodied throughout his life. The history of his revolutionary activities is the one of putting forth independent revolutionary lines and theories and embodying them along the whole path of revolutionary practice and Korean revolution is a glorious one in which the great leader won a brilliant victory overcoming manifold trials and hardships relying on our own forces with a thoroughgoing independent stand.

As President Kim Il Sung consistently held fast to the principle of independence throughout his life, Korea gained brilliant victories in two revolutionary wars and reconstruction, two steps of social revolution and socialist construction, turned into a socialist state independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant in defense and advanced vigorously along the road of Juche revolution, unperturbed even in the vortex of complicated and knotty world politics of the 20th century.

Independence is, indeed, the remarkable symbol of his peerless greatness and is shining as a historical term highly admiring the solemn revolutionary life and immortal exploits of the President. The imperishable exploits of the great leader, much greater than those achieved by any other men in the world, are full of independence.

The undying exploits he achieved for building up a thriving nation under the unfurled banner of independence are, first of all, that he laid down the most scientific and encyclopedic fighting guideline for the victorious advance of Korean revolution by putting forth revolutionary ideas and lines of independence.

It is the most important mission of a leader of revolution to illuminate clearly the way for the popular masses to advance along by creating a correct guiding idea.

It emerged as an urgent demand of the times to advance along the road of independence as the trend of struggle against feudalism and foreign forces and national independence grew up across the world in the early 20th century. Korean revolution was a severe political and class struggle against imperialism, dominationism, flunkyism, dogmatism and revisionism and an untrodden arduous struggle unable to wage by conventional means and methods.

President Kim Il Sung penetrated scientifically into the law of revolutionary movements of popular masses and the demand of the times and development of revolution and set forth the correct guiding idea of revolution and construction holding fast to independent stand.

He created immortal Juche idea based on the analysis of concrete details of Korea and serious lessons of early communist movements and bourgeois nationalist movements, and illuminated, for the first time in the history, the truth that independence is the lifeline of popular masses, country and nation and, to realize it, we should conduct revolution independently and creatively rejecting flunkyism and dogmatism.

Having established independence as the principle of revolution, he firmly adhered to the principles of making all lines and policies focused on Korean revolution. It was his steadfast stand and political creed to solve theoretical and practical problems arising in revolution and construction thoroughly in our own style with a creative attitude towards ready-made theories and ideas and other countries' experience and to make lines and policies by always comprehensively expressing and systematizing the wills and demands of popular masses.

Original lines of anti-Japanese armed struggle, anti-Japanese united front, people's revolutionary government, construction of a new country, socialist economic construction, agrarian reform and agricultural cooperation-all those lines and policies brilliantly embodied the President's thoroughgoing independent spirit.

The lines of attaching importance to ideology, arms, science and technology, the people-first policy, the idea of self-development and the general line of socialist construction, demonstrating their validity and vitality on the march of a new century today, are all based on the revolutionary idea of independence the President held fast to throughout his whole revolutionary leadership. As his revolutionary ideas and lines coherent with independence are fluttered as the imperishable militant banner, the socialism of Korean style is science and Juche revolution has a bright future.

His next undying exploit is that he glorified Juche Korea as an invincible power by bringing about great social changes with thoroughgoing independent politics.

It is the aspiration and desire of the popular masses to lead a dignified and happy life in a prosperous country. But it never comes into reality by itself and can truly flourish, overcoming all trials and difficulties, only when led by an outstanding leader with firm independent faith.

President Kim Il Sung was a great master of leadership and an elder statesman of independence who conducted the revolutionary cause of Juche with courage, always holding fast to independent stand, even in the harsh atmosphere of high-handedness and arbitrariness of imperialists and dominationists stalking fiercely. The one who made no concession in taking responsible care of the destiny of fatherland and people and carving it out by our own forces, the one who never forgave anyone impairing even the slightest bit of our nation's dignity, the one who overcame all the trials and hardships with an indomitable spirit and the one who valued most and safeguarded thoroughly the Juche character and national peculiarities was President Kim Il Sung. There were numerous state leaders, military men and famous people with superior airs in the world, but no one of them was nowhere near him in courage and grit.

With a firm faith that self-reliance is independence and Juche, President Kim Il Sung solved all the arising problems by our own forces from the early period of the sacred struggle for liberty and independence of the fatherland. His exploits of leading Korean people to the victory to defeat the Japanese imperialists, the burglars armed to teeth, solving all the problems like arms, food and clothing on their own strength under the slogan of independence by our own efforts, despite the absence of any state backing and the support of regular army, are shining through generations together with the era of independence. It was also the proud fruition of the President's independent faith that we successfully realized the causes of founding the Party, army and state by our own efforts in harsh circumstances after liberation, won a great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, the confrontation between an atomic bomb and a rifle, and highly demonstrated the spirit and mettle of Chollima Korea on the debris after the war, when everything was severely destroyed.

Thanks to the revolutionary leadership of the President, coherent with trust in and love for our own, pride and confidence in our own and the strong spirit of self-respect to glorify our own across the world, self-reliance became the revolutionary spirit and the mode of struggle unique to Korean people and on this land was built up the socialism of Juche dignified with independence and prosperous by our own efforts.

Independence is the major index of a power and self-reliance and self-development is the only way out. The brilliant reality of Juche Korea in which we are further demonstrating the might and dignity of the world politico-ideological and military power and are performing new miracles of radical changes differing from morning to evening, every minute and every second fully proves that the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung achieved with independent politics are the eternal treasures for the prosperity of Korean nation.

As we hold the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, another great master of independent politics, in high esteem, Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea shining with the ideology and exploits of the great generalissimos are advancing vigorously along the road of independence and a new victory of socialism.

Only victory and glory will always lie ahead of Korean people who advance dynamically overcoming all challenges of the history under the leadership of the respected General Secretary holding aloft the banner of independence that reflects the whole life of President Kim Il Sung.
