After delivering a speech at the significant meeting with more than 20 000 people, the President headed for the conference hall saying that he would listen to what coal miners would say. The officials and exemplary miners selected looked strained. The President let them relaxed putting glasses of water in their hands one by one and offering some soft-drink to them.
After the conference in the morning, he ate a quick lunch with delegates and continued the meeting without a break.
He asked the delegates if there were any problems in the coal miners' life prior to other problems.
An official from the coal mine frankly reported to him that a lot of new comers found jobs there, so that there existed the strain on dwelling houses and the problem of household water was not solved. The President instructed that irrigation water from Chongchon River should be used as household water and took a favorable measure to send irrigation water in winter as well as in the farming season. Then he told the officials and coal miners filled with emotion scrupulously: officials should always pay deep attention to workers' life; they ensured that lots of dwelling houses and a house of culture should be built nicely to arrange the condition for their education; in particular, workers who worked underground should be kept in good conditions to rest; the coal mine should build the supply service center with credit and keep the hospital in a hygienic state so as to give coal miners good medical treatment.
After solving the problems of coal miners' life, he asked what the problems were in production and took measures for it.
The President, who was about to get in the car after the meeting to return, suddenly got back to the officials and coal miners and shook their hands one by one affectionately and then, getting into the car again.
Soon after, materials and equipment for household water pipes sent by the President were arrived at Anju Coal Mine in order to solve the problem of household water, and later on, was seen the overjoyed people at the coal-mine village, who thought it as their fate to drink salty water, danced with handfuls of pure water singing about the deep love of the President for them.
