To Ensure Every Research Project Fulfill Their Potential In Reality

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"A new achievement in scientific research becomes a perfect theory only when it proves its validity and universality through production practice."

Chairman Kim Jong Il guided scientists to conduct scientific researches to solve the urgent problems arising in reality whatever they study at any time.

June 30, Juche 98(2009) was a significant day when the scientists of the DPRK once again bore in mind what they should be guided by when carrying out research.

On that day, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a branch of the State Academy of Sciences for the third time and looked around the exhibition of scientific achievements learning the scientific researches of the branch in great detail.

He was very pleased to hear from an official that the scientists had developed new technologies to produce more than three times within same funds. And he expressed great satisfaction when he was reported that they developed a new technology for separating expensive rare metals from the ore buried in different parts of our country and introduced in a pilot plant, saying they should conduct such research as many as possible to benefit from them.

Until then, however, it could not be said that all the scientific researches carried out in the branch were not just up to Chairman's expectation.

Some studies have been perfected in terms of theory, but there still remained number of research projects pending that do not meet in practice or that await solutions both in reality and nationwide.

Officials hung their heads in shame before the Chairman, who pointed out the studies not proving effective in reality.

On the same day, he gave valuable instructions to be regarded as guidelines in scientific researches in the future.

He said that in the future, too, the branch should conduct scientific researches to solve the problems arising in developing the Juche-oriented chemical industry. Then, only when the scientific research be successful when it is widely used in practice. He went on to say that the elucidation and completion are different concepts and elucidating in lab method is not perfect, and that scientific research should not only be conducted vigorously, but also be effective in practice.

These instructions clearly indicated the causes which had not been appreciated and ways for realization.

Chairman said that researches should be reviewed how successful they were introduced into practice. Even if the research was done, it should not be appreciated if there were any problems in introducing them into practice.

And our scientists should not conduct scientific research only for itself, but direct great efforts to researches to make better ones from domestic raw materials. To this end, researchers should continue to study so that they are well versed in modern science and technology and become men of wide knowledge in the trend of developing science and technology.

The teachings of Chairman were valuable to all scientists of the DPRK that they should bear as guidelines in mind and thoroughly implement throughout their lives.
