Hazelnut Twigs in the President's Car

The Korean people, deeply moved by his benevolence, are longing for President Kim Il Sung, who devoted his all to the happiness of the people all his life.

President Kim Il Sung said:

"From now on, we should make great efforts to develop animal husbandry so as to decisively increase meat production."

It was early spring in 1963.

When he visited a ship-pen of the stockbreeding sub-workteam in a certain farm, President told the girl breeders to get what he had brought in his car.

The breeders, who ran to the car with great curiosity, could not help being surprised.

It was a sheaf of hazelnut twigs that the President had brought in his car.

They were ordinary hazelnut twigs that could be found anywhere at the foot of the mountain around the village.

President Kim Il Sung took the twigs from the girl breeders and fed them to the sheep.

The sheep hastily grazed the soft hazelnut leaves.

Despite his tight schedule of on-the-spot guidance, he personally brought a sheaf of hazelnut twigs in his car to remind the officials and breeders to develop animal husbandry effectively using the nearby source of feed.

The world knows no one of greatness parallel to President Kim Il Sung, who opened up the path for the animal husbandry to follow, finding out sources of livestock feed on his way of on-the-spot-guidance, so that all people are supplied with abundant meat.
