Great leader makes great people

Since the beginning of human history, there have always been the people and without them the advance of history is inconceivable.

But not the people do always defend their dignity and are always called the great people.

The greatness of the people is not defined by the long history or population, but by the greatness of their leader.

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"We should know well what the source of the inexhaustible strength of our people is and what the roots of the greatness of our nation are."

A great leader makes great people. Today's reality in which the weak country of yesterday which was mercilessly trodden underfoot as a theatre where the big powers fought to expand the sphere of their influence, has now been turned into a proud political and military power and the Korean people who wept over sufferings in the past, are demonstrating their dignity as independent people whom no one dares to provoke, shows that the greatness of the leader ensures the greatness of the people.

The eye-opening event in which our people fully demonstrate their self-respect as the great people recognized and envied by the world as today is the inevitability of the history President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il have brought about.

By upholding Kim Il Sung as their great leader, for the first time in the history of thousands of years, our people could put an end to the long history of sufferings and greet a new era of carving out their destiny by their own efforts, and they demonstrated their pride as the heroic people who defeated the two formidable imperialists and the great people who set a brilliant example in socialist construction.

It was the greatest fortune and glory of the Korean people to hold Chairman Kim Jong Il at the head of our Party and revolution together with President Kim Il Sung.

Thanks to the great General, a rosy future has been opened up ahead of the struggle of our people for the prosperity of the country and the accomplishment of the cause of Juche, and the national pride of our people has been remarkably enhanced.

It is an immortal exploits to shine forever in the national history performed by the great General that he firmly defended the destiny of our country, our people and our socialism with Songun politics and ushered in a new era of building a powerful country.

The might of Juche Korea and the greatness of our people are never thought apart from the greatness of Chairman Kim Jong Il who no one can hold a candle to in ideology, leadership and traits.

Even now, we vividly remember how Chairman Kim Jong Il punished the imperialist aggressors running amuck to swallow the whole of our republic and turn them into colonial people again and defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the people in early 1993 when our country and our people faced the grim trials.

At that time, the imperialist allied forces were crying out as if capitalism had won over socialism as for the collapse of socialism in some countries, and saying silly things that our republic would be the same.

At the time when a touch-and-go situation was prevailing on the Korean peninsula, an iron declaration reverberated to frighten the enemy.

Chairman Kim Jong Il issued an order of the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army to turn the whole country, all the people and the entire army into a semi-war state.

His declaration was a bolt from the blue that the DPRK does not want war, but does not beg for peace and if the enemies provoke a new war, the Korean People's Army and people will deal a deadly blow at the aggressors and demonstrate the dignity and honor of heroic Korea once again. The enemies were stunned with it and the U.S. made bitten the dust.

The sacred image of Chairman Kim Jong Il who honorably defended the country, the people and socialism in the grim period when the destiny of the country and the people was confronted with a crisis by dint of unique and powerful Songun politics, is shining as the sun that can never be erased in the minds of our service personnel and people.

Thanks to the great leaders, our people could perform epoch-making miracles in building a truly independent power on this land and fully demonstrate their dignity as the great people.

As the world recognizes, our people has become great because they have the unusual fortune of having the great leaders, which any other country and people can never do.

Today our people uphold the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem, another peerlessly great man, so they will glorify the name of the independent, great people in the world.
