The name of the Rungna People's Recreation Ground situated on the shore of picturesque Rungna Islet also conveys the warm love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the people who is making ceaseless journey of devotion to the people, regarding the great idea and exploits of the great leaders who brought up the people and glorified the DPRK throughout their lifetime of believing in the people as in Heaven.

Although he was busy with his revolutionary leadership, he gave precious instructions on building a fun fair on Rungna Islet on several occasions in order to contribute to the cultural and emotional life of the people. One day in April Juche 101(2012), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited Rungna People's Recreation Ground under construction, regardless of the dust that was blowing up all the construction sites due to the strong wind.

He went round various places of the construction site for a long time, regardless of the fact that the whole construction site was being dusted due to the strong wind, and took meticulous care of the people so that they could spend a good time without any inconvenience.

That day he said that Rungna Islet area should be renamed comprehensively, but the word "people" should never be excluded from the name of the pleasure park, adding that it was best to call it Rungna People's Recreation Ground, in view of the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who made painstaking efforts for the people all their lives.

He said to the officials that it would be a good idea to call Rungna Islet area "Rungna People's Recreation Ground". He added that it would be best to call it Rungna People's Recreation Ground, in view of the noble intention of the President and the Chairman who devoted all their efforts to the people's wellbeing throughout their lives. He continued to say that Rungna People's Recreation Ground was a pleasure ground for the people and its development was the work for realizing the desire of the Chairman who devoted all his life to providing the people with all the happiness.

Thanks to his warm care, the name of the Rungna People's Recreation Ground come into being.
