Glory and Happiness enjoyed by Korean Women

March 8 is International Women's Day.

Billions of women from all countries in the world greet the day every year, but no country in the world celebrates the March 8 International Women's Day more significantly than the DPRK, where all the women have full rights and are dignified as flowers of the country, life and family.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Unstained loyalty to the Party and the leaders, a spirit of devoted service to the country and fellow people and an ennobling sense of moral obligation–these are the ideological and spiritual features of our women, and it is a source of great pride for our Party and people to have a large contingent of such excellent women revolutionaries."

Before the liberation, Korean women had tried persistently to escape from feudal fetters and colonial slavery. Their dignity was completely trampled down and they were forced to suffer from all kinds of subordination only because they were born as women. They had no rights and lived such a miserable life that they were often despised in all spheres of social life.

After liberation of the country, President Kim Il Sung put an end to this period.

During the anti-Japanese war, the President led the women to take the same front as men in the struggle against Japanese imperialists and trained them to be female revolutionaries, thus encouraging them to play a significant role in the sacred cause of national liberation. After the liberation of the country, he set the cause of women's liberation as the main goal and major fighting task of the women's movement in our country and performed a great exploit of proclaiming the Law on Sex Equality. Since then, the Korean women have led a genuine life, turning one of the wheels of the revolution as proud masters of society.

Chairman Kim Jong Il ensured that the brilliant history of attaching importance to women continued on this land and set up women as a powerful force to push ahead the revolution and construction.

Whenever he saw the women who devoted their efforts and wisdom to the work for making the country more prosperous, he was very satisfied and set up them as heroines and patriots of the times. He was more pleased than anyone else when a song for women was created. Thanks to his warm love and trust, the Korean women could overcome all hardships and trials with laughter and display their strength and passion in the course of the victorious advance of socialism.

The Korean women have led the most dignified lives at the apex of their happiness and now their lives are shining more brilliantly in the great new era.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un continues to write a history of respecting women, highly appreciating their unknown efforts and sincerity for the country's prosperity. He made sure that Breast Tumor Institute of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and hostels for weavers and silk-tailors were wonderfully built. He also worked with all his heart and soul to improve the quality of cosmetics for the women and ensured that a fair dress exhibition was organized in such a way as to make the whole country brighter. Under the deep trust and warm loving care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is pursuing the great politics of attaching importance to and respecting women, the Korean women will enjoy boundless glory and happiness, fully demonstrating their rights and dignity to the world in the future.
