The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Under the deep concern of the Party and thanks to the devoted efforts of our service personnel and people, modern sports facilities like the Masikryong Ski Resort and Mirim Riding Club have been built on the world level and such multifunctional sports facilities as the May Day Stadium, Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and Sports Village on Chongchun Street have been modernized. In this way, conditions have been provided for the sports people and other working people to train their sporting techniques and enjoy the sporting and cultural activities to their heart's content."

The proud reality of the DPRK, where monumental edifices representing the era of the Workers' Party have been built under the leadership of the great Party, is further demonstrating the spirit and might of Juche Korea.

The immortal traces left by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who opens up a proud period in construction with his unusual wisdom and outstanding leadership, has been remained vivid in the May Day stadium.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave the wise guidance to the work to turn the May Day stadium that was greatly contributing to the country's sports development and the working people's cultural and emotional life into a monumental building associated with the immortal leadership exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

On September 24, 2013, with the far-reaching plan to rebuild the May Day stadium as required by the new century, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the stadium and looked round the rooms dedicated to history and to revolutionary relics preservation. Looking at the photos of the President who made a speech at the opening ceremony of the 13th World Youth and Students' Festival and the Chairman who visited the stadium with deep emotion, he said that the leadership exploits achieved by them should be handed down to posterity by turning the stadium into the comprehensive one to be well-known to the world.

After going round the auditorium, track and field courses, football stadium and other places, he said that it had a very large capacity, so it was necessary to set up new chairs convenient and attractive for the spectators.

Then, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that it was the Party's decision to rebuild the May Day stadium as a symbol of the country's sporting facilities and as a stadium suitable for the civilized nation's appearance, and that the reconstruction of the May Day stadium was an important work to further develop sports and demonstrate the national strength and civilization in the ever-increasing hot climate of sports, shedding lights on the tasks and ways in detail.

With his energetic guidance, ardent patriotism and labor feat of the all the people and soldiers of the KPA, the May Day stadium was successfully reconstructed as a monumental edifice in the era of the Workers' Party in a short period of time and an inaugural ceremony was held on October 28, 2014.

The newly rebuilt May Day stadium has a football stadium with a seating capacity of 150 000, swimming pools, table tennis rooms, mini golf course and fatigue rehabilitation rooms suited to the world standard as well as sports and cultural facilities and service networks furnished at the best level, thus ensuring matches and training for athletes and providing convenience to an audience.

That day, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, watching the women's football games with the citizens of Pyongyang, expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the May Day stadium was successfully reconstructed on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Party, and said that the May Day stadium was a world-class stadium built by dint of the great idea and determination of the Chairman that was the pride and wealth of the DPRK.

Indeed, his saying was throbbed with the iron faith and will of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who holds the highest loyalty and moral obligation to the President and the Chairman and is making every possible effort to make the Korean people the most dignified in the world.

Now, telling about the immortal traces left by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the May Day Stadium is greatly contributing to the development of the country's physical culture and to the popular cultural and emotional life of the working people.
