A year has passed since the last year when the grave situation occurred in the DPRK in which world-spread malignant coronavirus made inroads into the country and the medics of the Korean People's Army participated in the top-level emergency anti-epidemic campaign and discharged their sacred duty to defend the capital of the country and people, thus performing immortal feats there.
For 91 days, with their unyielding confidence and courage, medics of the KPA made strenuous and active efforts in the anti-epidemic battlefield to defend the capital that decided upon the final consequence of national anti-epidemic struggle, so that they fully displayed the indomitable spirit and ever-victorious combat capability of the KPA and the noble moral traits and praiseworthy fidelity of the army of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The respected Comrade
"Revolutionary soldiers infinitely loyal to our Party and sons, daughters and siblings of the people–this was the genuine image of the medics of the army, imprinted in the memory of the Pyongyang citizens in the sacred struggle of 91 days."
First of all, they gave full play to their sense of gallantry and sacrifice to supply citizens with medicines in a responsible manner, thus contributing to keeping medical supplies stable and easing anti-epidemic situation.
It was the first time for every medical serviceman to supply people from all walks of life, of all ages and both sexes, with medicines promptly and even pay attention to medical treatment, but all of them did laudable deeds, displaying concreteness, carefulness and sincerity at pharmacies, with their absolute loyalty to the order issued by the Party central committee and their spirit of unconditional love for and devotion to people.
KPA medics kept and managed valuable medicines associated with the Party's benevolent affection in a responsible way and put the work of medicine supply on a concrete and active footing by residential district, family and person in conformity with the anti-epidemic situation.
Drivers of medicine-transport vehicles deployed at every post drove to the anti-epidemic battlefields of the capital without rest to supply needed medicines, feeling as if they had transported ammunition to the front line.
KPA officers, soldiers and even their families found themselves in every district(county) and displayed a high spirit of devoted service for people, keeping in step with the servicemen mobilized for medicine supplies.
That is why citizens of Pyongyang said, full of emotion, that they were driven home on the word "Party's army", "people's army", seeing the KPA medics devotedly striving for anti-epidemic work in the capital like the phoenix.
Second, medics of the KPA contributed to the protection of people's life and health by visiting citizens and the factories and enterprises in the city that pushed ahead with their production ceaselessly amid the top-level emergency anti-epidemic situation for medical treatment with lightning speed as well as taking in charge of medical supplies.
Those medics who were dispatched to the pharmacies in the capital were ordered to stabilize medicine transport and supply, but all of them also did their best to protect people's life and health from coronavirus.
All-night work that was continuous day after day made all of them feel extremely exhausted both in body and mind, but they regarded it as their natural duty to run in the fierce heat looking for the families needed for medicines and visit the recorded fever-stricken cases again and again till they completely recovered.
The medics took the lead in the emergency anti-epidemic campaign, visiting the city's families for their active medical treatment as well as medicine supplies, and kindly informing them of folk remedies and Koryo medical therapy based on the symptom of aftereffects.
Every street and village in the capital had endless moving stories of KPA servicemen who took pains for the safety of people's life, including their medical examination and sincere treatment while supplying citizens with medicines for 24 hours, doing their best for the convenience of citizens.
People picked up their strength and courage at the sight of the medics who gave sincere medical aids to the citizens, while kindly consulting with people who came late at night, and went on their way late at night and early in the morning to workshops and families to treat fever-stricken cases.
Endless were all sorts of virtues showing the genuine image of the KPA such as the fact that KPA medics made their medical examinations for hundreds of families far away from the pharmacy and treated the cases with sincerity and that they handed out to citizens sheets of paper on which phone numbers of pharmacies were written and delivered medicines to their houses when they were informed of details of needed medicines and home addresses.
Virtues that they volunteered to do for people, as befits the delegates from the Party central committee, were brought into full play every day at any post.
Also, the KPA medics impressed the genuine image of people's army on citizens' mind by volunteering to do things for the sake of people under the slogan, "Let's help people!" while devoting themselves to medicine supply and medical treatment.
They transported medicines and supplied people with them in a responsible way under the concern and tender care of the motherly Party and with the warm love of the KPA whose mission is to serve the people, so that good deeds of volunteering to do things good for people were in full bloom among the medical servicemen of the KPA.
For example, those who were enlisted for medicine transport to pharmacies willingly sat up late at night fixing rice-seedling transplanters and other farming machines and provided them with replacement parts, though they were very busy.
The genuine image of the people's army were also reflected in the laudable deeds of KPA transport soldiers who volunteered to spend their rest periods helping the disposal of life waste from the houses around the pharmacy and taking fresh vegetables from the farms around the city to provide people.
The fact that they visited the families of war veterans, disabled soldiers and meritorious workers with tonics good for recovery as well as anti-epidemic medicines, laudable deeds that they transfused their blood into patients and practised life-kiss to bring the dying back to life and the fact that they supplied their combat provisions without hesitation to the families in reduced circumstances as staple and non-staple foods, all of which deeply moved people.
With the devoted efforts of KPA medics who found themselves among people and helped them with sincerity, sharing bitters and sweets in difficult times, Korean people's absolute and unchangeable trust in the motherly Party became more intense and families of the capital were full of animation and vitality.
On top of that, they fully displayed their pure and devoted moral traits, always treating people with sincerity.
Korean people included the KPA soldiers among their sons or brothers and sisters not merely because they gave them medicine or food when they were ill but because they were fully moved by the filial devotion of the KPA servicemen who were concerned about their health more than their own family members and looked after them with their sincerity, which was why they freely called them their thankful army, their sons and their grandsons.
Among them were the medics who received the news of their family's mishap or serious illness but bore their pains and agonies with an inviolable sense of duty and devoted their affection on citizens of the capital, and other army officers and soldiers who suffered from infirmity but continued their way of devotion and finally passed away.
Such things could not be executed or wanted by command but be carried out and explained only by mental and moral traits of the KPA.
That was not everything.
In the emergency anti-epidemic campaign of the capital, KPA medics hold fast to the mental and moral disciplines peculiar to the KPA that they should not impose the slightest burden on people in any circumstances.
True to the order of love for people issued by the respected General Secretary that the KPA servicemen should tolerate only water and air in their stationing places as befit the soldiers of people's army and the delegates from the Party central committee, they didn't attempt to impose any burden on people.
For that reason, people, who experienced the repeated "refusal" of the medics to accept their simple devotion, expressed their gratitude to the respected General Secretary who trained such an excellent army, the moving scenes of which could be seen everywhere in the capital.
That fully showed the excellent traits of the KPA that was convinced of the Party's intention and policy, thought and acted with right political eyes, not as soldiers who acted upon orders blindly, and the real nature of the army that was strong in politics and ideology.
That's why the respected General Secretary highly praised the KPA for its excellent traits with the greatest satisfaction.
Though there were no bullets whistling to aim at life, it was a battle site and KPA medics who took part in the campaign without hesitation to wipe out Covid-19 that threatened life and protected people from danger were today's medics at the front and war heroes.
Such traits of the KPA served as immortal strength to encourage citizens of the capital to rid themselves of the crisis of epidemic terror and as detonator to sublimate and erupt communist virtue and spirit across the country.
Indeed, the devoted efforts made by medics of the KPA who were full of loyalty to the Party and revolution and devotion to the sake of people contributed to putting down public health crisis unprecedented in history, winning a victory over the anti-epidemic campaign and firmly defending the people's absolute trust in the Party and the valuable revolutionary wealth of army-people unity.
