Ideal Streets: Realizing the Great Aspiration of Our Party

The historic Eighth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea proudly proclaimed that in the first half of the year 2023 the construction sector inaugurated 10 000 flats as the first stage of housing construction in the Hwasong area, completed construction of 2 000 flats in addition and wound up the construction of 1 400 flats in the Taephyong area.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Building 50 000 modern flats in Pyongyang, the capital of our great country, is something our Party has long intended, prepared for and aspired to, in order to provide its citizens with more cultured and stable living conditions."

As decided at the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, Songhwa Street, the first entity of housing construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang, was built and a characteristic terraced houses district by the picturesque Pothong River presented its appearance in 2022; in 2023 10 000 flats were inaugurated as the first stage of housing construction in the Hwasong area, construction of 2 000 flats was completed in addition and construction of 1 400 flats in the Taephyong area was wound up. This is a historic event that opened a new era of capital city construction and demonstrated to the whole world the development of our state, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The ideal streets that sprang up in the capital city of Pyongyang boasting their majestic appearance are examples of the epochal transformation brought about by the original people-first political ideal of the WPK and demonstration of the stout mettle and inexhaustible development potential of the DPRK that is bringing the future earlier according to the revolutionary timetable set by the WPK whatever the conditions are.

The ideal streets for our people, symbolic of the prosperity and civilization in the era of the WPK are great entities brought about by the aspiration of the WPK.

Kim Jong Un said that building 50 000 modern flats in Pyongyang, the capital of our great country, is something the WPK has long intended, prepared for and aspired to, in order to provide its citizens with more cultured and stable living conditions, and that this is an ennobling undertaking to turn the state's assets and the fruits of their creative labour into benefits for the working masses.

It is his steadfast view that other construction projects may be adjusted, but the housing construction in the capital city, which claims the people's real interest and is directly linked with their living, must never be delayed, but powerfully pushed ahead.

The new streets built in 2023 are monumental edifices in the era of Kim Jong Un, which eloquently proves the ardent desire of the WPK that regards serving the people as heaven as its unchangeable original feature and iron-like creed and makes all its efforts for the wellbeing of the people.

It is Kim Jong Un's plan and determination to care for the people more warmly, put them forward better and bring earlier the day when they will enjoy a great happiness in a most powerful country in the world the more difficult the situation is.

It is a science that his plans and determinations are put into a great reality.

His profound thoughts unfold far-reaching plans for bringing the people's ideals into reality, and his uninterrupted painstaking efforts produce a brilliant reality.

The ideal streets that sprung up in Pyongyang are a fruition of the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Un, who indicated the correct ways and means for the capital city construction and made devoted efforts for its realization. He guided their construction in detail, ranging from designing and building, and led the builders to make leaps forward and innovations.

This brought about a brilliant reality, in which one success was achieved after another in the grand housing construction campaign in the capital city.

The tremendous changes in the Hwasong area has been undergone by the great love and devotion of the respected General Secretary who does his best to realize the dream and ambition of the people.

Having matured a plan to turn the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun area into an ideal one, filled with people's happiness and efflorescing socialist civilization, Kim Jong Un ensured that another grand construction theatre was created in the Hwasong area as the second stage of construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang, and made a speech, titled, "Let Us Add Further Glory to the Golden Age of Capital City Construction by Transforming the Hwasong Area", at its ground-breaking ceremony, encouraging the builders to perform miraculous feats.

Busy as he was with the overall work of the Party and state, he acquainted himself with the construction project in detail, leading the whole process of the project so that the builders could set up the street boldly and in our own way as a standard district in a modern city.

His tireless and detailed guidance was a decisive factor that stoked the flames of creating a new speed of construction, new legendary tales in construction, in the Hwasong theatre.

Thanks to his outstanding and seasoned leadership, another new ideal street sprang up in about a year, symbolizing the new era of self-respect and prosperity and reflecting the rosy future of the capital city of Pyongyang.

The new street in the Hwasong area makes all the people more confident in the fresh victory of the revolution and the prosperous future of their state.

The people's ideal streets set up in different parts of the capital city in the most difficult and unfavourable conditions and environment thanks to the great aspiration of the WPK testify that the Korean people will bring their wonderful future earlier as they follow the road indicated by Kim Jong Un.

Indeed, the ideal streets sprang up in the capital city one year after another are monuments, symbolic of an aspect of the comprehensive development of the DPRK that is advancing towards a brighter future under his leadership.

Thanks to the wise guidance of the leader, who regards the people as heaven, Pyongyang will ceaselessly take a new appearance.
